One of Cowherd's locks for the season was that the Cards would win less than 10 games.

It would be nice for him to eat his words.

I hate predictions made by the media. They're always wrong and they never revisit them after the fact.

Lock of the year. Cowherd's show will just as un-listenable to in January as it is now.

One of my locks for 2010 is that Cowherds show will have the smallest audiance on record.

I'm not sure that that's going too far out on a limb. If Seattle improves even a little, and with the harder out-of-division schedule, it'll be hard for the Cards to improve on last year's record with a rebuilding defense and an offense minus a Hall of Fame quarterback.

Vegas has the over-under on Cardinal wins this season as 7.5. I'd probably take that bet (I think the floor for this team is 7 wins), but adding three to that total isn't exactly sticking your neck out.

The NFC West will probably be won with 9 wins in 2010.

I agree, but I won't be able to confirm it, since it is truly un-listenable.

Best sports radio personality on the radio bar none. Just because a person doesn't have cardinal fever is no reason to be a hater guys!

They guy does talk more football then a lot of other radio guys but I just find him to be highly annoying. I can only listen for 15 minute bursts.

I love his show and will listen any chance I get. Love the fact that he doesn't broadcast scared. Even takes shots at and criticizes the guys that sign his checks. (ESPN)

the guy I can't take is Jim Rome. Listening to him makes me puke a little. :)

 I agree 100 percent with everything you say. I love Cowherd even though I do sometimes disagree with him, as I do today. Still, he usually admits it when he was wrong about something, unlike other media peersonalities.

And calling Jim Rome hot garbage would give hot garbage a bad name.

He is alright as a show but you have to take what he says for what it is worth.
He bashes other people for being biased but he admits he is biased for the favored teams in sports. He is nothing but a front runner and in this case he is jumping out in front of popular national opinion. He couldn't tell you who replaced the players that were lost and he doesn't care.

Historically he is making a safe pick. The Cardinals won 10 games like twice in the past 30 years? If he is right or wrong nobody will remember and nobody will care but us.

He is an entertainer not a prognosticator.

He also said in November 08 that the Cardinals couldn't go far in the 08 playoffs.

More fodder for the proverbial bulletin board.

I guaranteee you that he could!

Also he isnt a front runner at all. He fully admits that the front running teams get the most coverage on ESPN. He tells people to deal with it. He says thats just the way it is. He openly states that the network will cover the bigger markets that get the better ratings and bigger fan viewership because thats what gets the most money. Doesnt say that he likes it. It just is what it is. He's right!

Colin can be ok at times but down right unbearable other times.. When he goes on his tangents at the opening of the show, when he keeps up those tangents for 3 straight days, and when he hits his high notes like he's going thru pubarty.. Thats when he's the most annoying.. And sometimes he has a weird thought process.. Like when he said sports suck if the Cowboys, Yankees, Lakers, Boston, Duke arent winning championships and they need to continue winning cuz thats when sports are at their best.. No, that makes sports freakin boring.. Then he'll go on a tangent about why people hate these teams and not enjoying watching them.. Well duh, its booooooring watching the same team win all the time ya numb nuts..

having Cardinal fever has nothing to do with it. The things i can't stand about him are that he'll start a topic in the first 5 minutes and harp on it the entire show to try and prove his point. Which lads to the 2nd thing i can't stand about him. He thinks he's always right and tries to act like he know more than anyone ona subject.

The best sports talks show host, to me, is Tony Bruno without a doubt. He's funny, can make fun of himself and let's his audience have an opinion that differs from his.

I can't stand Jim Rome either. I'll tell you a guy who I couldn't stand when he was at ESPN and now like his radio show is Stephen Smith. He has his opinions, and is still cocky, but he'll listen to callers points of views and can see their side of things. Cowherd is 3 hours of him trying to show you how smart he is.

I don't mind Colin, although I couldn't listen to all three hours of him.

I kind of like Dan Patrick's show. He doesn't cover a ton of sports, but he gets some good, interesting interviews and he's funny.

No, he pretty clearly states he "wants great team to be great".

He has stated directly that he is biased for the 'major teams': Yankees, USC, Cowboys, etc.

He doesn't like underdogs and says so.

That network he says covers the big teams more, he is included and fully participates in that.

All of this is not to bash the guy. It is what it is.

I cant stand Cowherd or Rome! Rome just annoyes the heck out of me and his friggen ego is out of control. Cowherd has always kind of been hit or miss for me. But then when he decided he needed to preach about the evils of guns and how "guns kill people" and how the Govt needs to move towards banning them. Well that was enough for me, I have not listened to him since.

Cowherd's radio show is ok for the most part. It's his TV show that kicks in my gag reflex

You're not supposed to pay attention to Cowherd on the TV show. He's got that hot chick Michelle Beadle with him. Just watch her and you'll be alright...

Exactly, I only listen to Cowherd when I am going to and coming from lunch, so small doses. Three hours of practically anyone it too much.

You're dead on about Patrick not covering sports. I will sometimes switch to Patrick when Doug and Wolf (KTAR 610AM) are on commercial break. But he hardly ever is talking about sports, more often about himself...

I only want to hear about football and local (Phoenix area) sports, so other topics almost always cause me to change channels, no matter who I am listening to.

For me it goes:

Colin - Love him. Don't always agree with him but he is probably the most intelligent radio personality in terms of social norms. I think if him and Simmons ever teamed up for a radio show it would be gold, although both of their squeaky voices would probably make me want to kill myself.

DP - Dan Patrick is good and funny although I can't help but feel he has a bit of an elitist in him.

Rome - You have to listen way too much to get all the jokes (which i can't and don't) but very few other radio shows make me LOL like this one can.

Dan Lebetard - His show is Miami based so local to me, but he is freaking hilarious. He talks around sports though, not about sports.

I'll tell you who I absolutely loathe. Is his name Dave Burns? The PHX radio personality who sounds like a 75 year old man and is about as current as Tang? Man that guys sucks.

Personally, I can only listen to Cowherd for so long. He's such a pompous blowhard. Then you see what a scrawny little rat he is on TV & it makes you want to slap him. That's not to say that I don't occasionally tune in to hear what he's saying. But it generally doesn't last but 5 minutes.

Forst of all, who cares? We're gonna do what we're gonna do and it will have nothing to do with Cowherd's LOCK or anyone elses. Doesn't bother me in the least.

I dont like Cowherd and it's nothing to do with his comments about the Cardinals. He's constantly blathering about how wealthy he is and talks about his wine collection and how he'll never get married and then he ventures into politics. I dont hate him but I think his show is annoying. When he does get around to sports talk he seems to be pretty well informed, but it's his delivery that drives me crazy.

I tolerate him much better on Sportsnation but even there he gets on my nerves. I dont know what everyones talking about that he's so 'bold'. Ya he does run his mouth when he's alone, but when he has a guest he treats them with kid gloves FAR more than Rome (whom I also dislike) or Patrick. I've never heard him pin anyone down and his man crush on Lebron is nauseating. Atleast 30mins of his show everyday are dedicated to Lebron, and that's when there is NO Lebron news to talk about cuz when there is,, lookout.

He's still better than Jim Rome. That's the most un-listenable show on the radio for me.. It's not even a sports show anymore he just yells his cliche's into the mic and plays sound clips all day and then we get to listen to the "clones" call in and talk "Smack" to eachother which is just a delight let me tell you.

Dan Patrick is superior in every way, but that's just this man's opinion.
