They are not. Switch to DirecTV and use me as a referral. You will be happy.

The game will be in hi-def on 709.

For those of us stuck without the Network (for any number of reasons) hope is not lost: The NFL network has a "Live" or "Watch it now" area on their website on gamedays.
So far this season games exclusively on the network have been watchable over the website.

I'll bump this on gameday with the link.

cox does not carry nfl network hd in the phoenix market
Nope, but channel 45 will be airing the feed and since it is broadcast in hi-def, the signal will be hi-def as long as you watch it on channel 709. They talked about it on the radio yesterday.

Last year they did carry the Thursday games in HD. Do not know why they changed this year. At least we will be able to watch the Cards in HD.

They do periodically. They did last year during the playoffs. They did the same with NBA as well.

FWIW, I have Cox cable and they carry the NFL Network in HD in Oklahoma. So it must be a local decision and not just because Cox cable cannot provide it.

I know when I first heard about the NFL Network, I was sending Cox an e-mail almost daily asking for it. Plus others were too, you know the ol' "I want my NFL Network" campaign. Perhaps, you should rattle their cage there, and tell 'em you want it in HIGH DEF!!!

Cox is carrying it in the Phoenix market on channel 45. If you have Cox and can swing an extra 3 bucks a month you can get their sports package which includes NFL Network. I called and ordered it and was hooked up in about 10 mins. And worth every penny. And no, this isn't an ad for Cox. :D

It is kind of outrageous. To be paying for the sports tier, and not have NFL network in HD, especially since they had it off and on last year.

If you're paying for the tier, and they offer it in other cities, and have had it here in HD for limited time, then I feel they are screwing us over when they don't have it here in hd in Nov 2008.

I thought I heard they put it out there because it was FREE, like a promotion by the NFL. But when they had to start paying for it, they pulled it. (which again if I'm paying for tier, then Cox should pony up for it)

Not a big deal since it'll be on upn. Hopefully it'll be real hi-def, not like the preseason games on ABC which were regular def on a hi def channel. Seeing that it's on UPN, I don't know. Don't remember ever watching football on UPN, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since they do have the equipment to carry hi-def Suns games.

Can't wait for all those hi-def channels by the end of the year, whoops. Guess that ain't happening.
