I am warning you it is crazy

A trade involving these pieces can be done according to trade checker. However I am not sure it is 100% accurate because after the season or on draftnight what salary counts?

Bo Outlaw's salary is less next season while the other players in this trade get more money next season.

The basic idea (it isn't mine) was that the Cleveland future pick might be worth a little more than before because the chance that Cleveland barely makes the playoffs this year are pretty good.

Adding Lebron James they will have to trade one of their */F players and Darius Miles was a dissapointment this season.

Clevelands president said he wants to add some good character veteran players to the young team.

The basic idea it to trade Bo Outlaw, Cleveland's pick and Cleveland's 2008 second round pick to Cleveland for a package including Darius Miles and probably either Mihm or Diop.

The second idea was trading Casey Jacobsen and the 17th pick to the Los Angeles Clippers for Quentin Richardson. This came up only because Richardson and Miles are probably better friends than any other 2 players in this league that are not related.

A trade could look like this

Phoenix trades

Bo Outlaw and the future Cleveland first round pick and 2008 second round pick to Cleveland.
Casey Jacobsen and the #17 pick to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Phoenix receives
Quentin Richardson, Keyon Dooling from the Los Angeles Clippers
Darius Miles, Chris Mihm from the Cleveland Cavalliers

The Clippers also get Jumaine Jones while the Cavs get the #34 pick.

The problem that I see in this trade is that Cleveland gives up 3 players for one player and future picks. But they should have some money to sign players.

Phoenix lineup without Penny Hardaway
Jake Tsakalidis/Jake Voshkul/Veteran FA
Amare Stoudemire/Chris Mihm/Gugliotta
Shawn Marion/Darius Miles
Quentin Richardson/Joe Johnson
Stephon Marbury/Keyon Dooling

As you can see this roster would really make Penny Hardaway expandable so Phoenix should look to unload him for whatever shorter contracts and throw-ins they could get for him. Like a Terell Brandon if possible.

Clippers not considering FAs
Kandi/Rooks/ZhiZhi
Brand/Wilcox/Ely
Odom/Jones
Magette/Jacobsen
Miller/Jaric

#6 and #17 draftpicks while Miller, Kandi, Brand, Odom, Rooks, Magette, Piatkowski and Park are either restricted or unrestricted FAs.

Cleveland
Ilgauskas/Diop/Stewart
Boozer/Outlaw
James/
Davis/
Wagner/

#30 and #34 picks

They definately have some holes to fill because even before this trade they only have 9 players under contract excluding the draft because they waived Tyronne Hill, Nick Anderson and Bimbo Coles.

PS: I warned you it's crazy. I really think the part between the Clippers and Suns is fair and works well together with Sterlings methods.
The Cleveland part would definately rely on how highly they are still thinking of Miles.
I was just picking up someone's idea to trade for Darius Miles and combined it with reuniting him with Richardson since both would be looking to play together again once they are FAs anyway.

PPS: Marbury, Richardson, Marion, Miles, Stoudemire would be the best combination of athletic players that any team in the league could have on the court at the same time.

There could be some fine tuning with the picks to balance it out since this trade is proposed by a Phoenix fan and therefore biased anyway. Phoenix could give up another future second round pick or protected first round pick to the Clippers and #17 would go to Cleveland.

For the real real crazy offseason trade Penny and Big Jake to Atlanta for Ratliff and Crawford.

Ratliff/Voshkul/Veteran FA
Amare/Mihm/Googs
Marion/Miles
Richardson/Johnson
Marbury/Dooling

The core is still together.

I highly doubt that CLE would trade either Mihm or Diop for their future pick.
Adding Outlaw and Miles makes the deal totally impossible.

.

This is maybe a bit more realistic because Sterling is such a cheap cornholio but else it's obviously a steal talent-wise for Suns.

So, yes this is indeed crazy....

Where have you been the past 2 summers? The goal every summer is to "unload" penny. Do you REALLY think minny will give an expiring 12 mil salary for pennys? Especialy when they could get eddie jones or someone like that?

Hehehe, unload penny, thats great :D

IMO, this is the most realistic proposal among the above 3 IF ATL consider Tsakalidis as a promising C prospect.

Yes, they COULD get but reportedly Riley refused that deal.

riley refused the deal on the basis he could not justify to his fan base trading their star for a retiring player who would not come off the books until the summer after next. That is why the trade is once again very ervy possible. Riley could trade now, and say we can use it on a FA in the summer of 2004.

The part about not being able to justify came from Riley's mouth I believe, that or someone else in the heat organization

Right now, trading Penny is like trying to sell your family portrait on e-bay.

You might not like the work the photographer did, but its still worth more to you than anyone else. If it is not so bad that you are willing to pitch it, you might as well keep it.

<<Right now, trading Penny is like trying to sell your family portrait on e-bay. >>

I read a discussion on another message board that talked about a Penny trade to Houston for Mobley. Most of the people on that board did not go for it at all. They felt like that trade would benefit Houston too much for cmofort.

I on the other hand think that the trade would be great for both teams. Penny and Franchise would be quite a backcourt and Penny could play PG and and he would get the ball to Yao. Phoenix would get the a most coveted SG in Mobley. Mobley is younger and could grow with this team.

So, if you want him out.. Houston may give you what you want most. If in fact that trade occurs.

I would most definitely not make that trade.

First off, the salaries won't match, so we would have to get some overpaid stiff from Houston as well.

Secondly, the problem I have with Mobley in Houston is he doesnt pass in to Yao. He would rather dribble around the perimeter and take a shot for himself. Penny is our best passer into the post, and one of the best in the league IMO. Not only does having him give us a better ability to feed Amare now, but hopefully he can teach JJ the entry pass so we can have a good feeder later as well.

Thirdly, all this does is make our main competition stronger, by adding a good piece for them, and taking away a negative aspect of their offense at the same time. We need to remember that the suns make trades to better themselves, not their opponents.....
