l.bentley-c/g (assuming hutch is franchised)- versitile, can play c or g at a probowl level. his versatility leaves our options open in rd2 for the best T OR G, draft a G (gilles?) move him to C draft a T (winston/scott) he plays G.
c.hope-fs-steelers- good in pass d can come up and make a play on the ball. use to playing next to a ss like wilson (polomalu) who plays up and blitzes a lot leaving him to cover over the top.
k.clancey-dt-giants- he's been credited with the drastic improvement in the giants run d and is perfect to be next to plymakers like umenyora, strahan, berry, okefor, dockett
draft
1-l.white
2-best t/g available (gilles/winston/scott)
3-best te i.e. fasano/klopfenstein
this wouldn't be a very expensive offseason at all, just because we have the cap room doesnt mean we HAVE to spend it all, it leaves us a little wiggle room for next offseason (maybe a good fa qb?) and still addresses all of our needs. It would be VERY tempting to go after edge but I just can't see breaking the bank on a 28y/o rb with a repaired knee, that may cost us the ability (cap room) to go after fa's like bentley and fill other needs (fs, dt, ol), that i believe we are in more need of. since i really like l.white and would love to see a young healthy back in here for the next decade instead of edge for 2 or 3 good years at a much higher price id opt against edge.
If i was to go after another big name fa it would be w.witherspoon, he wont cost as much as peterson or arrington but would greatly upgrade that lb corpfort years to come (i beleive he's only 25)
I may even consider cutting ross (i believe he's a 5mil cap hit next year) and signing j.backus to play rt. id love to keep him ofr depth but not at that cap #, with ross' old coach coming in i really can't see that happening though. I doubt we could afford him on top of althe other signings.
