Russell received a 40-game suspension from Major League Baseball last September after an investigation determined he violated the league's domestic-abuse policy. The suspension came after Russell's now ex-wife, Melisa Reidy, accused Russell of both physical and mental abuse. In the offseason, Reidy revealed even more instances of Russell's abuse.
