You have an unhealthy obsession, you do realize he doesn't pitch for this team anymore, never will again?

So what? The guy was a major reason the Diamondbacks won the title in 2001and I know there are people here who still follow him.

Not me.

Curt really burned a lot of bridges on his way out of town and has not missed an opportunity to put down the Dbacks and Phoenix in general.

Randy Johnson on the other hand has lived here all along and despite doing and saying what he had to to get one more big pay day from the Yankees he has always remained loyal to the valley.

Exactly! Curt is very egotystical, reportedly not a very nice teammate and can't seem to keep his trap shut. The Diamondbacks bent over backwards for him when he was here.

For instance they allowed HIM to decide what uniforms the team was wearing on the days he pitched. Now that might not seem like a big deal, but I heard that the equipment managers had to make sure they had EVERY uniform combination cleaned and ready just in case King Curt might choose something out of the rotation. They usually have the uniforms planned out a few months in advance because of the logistics involved.

Next they allowed him to choose whether or not to have the roof open or closed on the days he started. Often he screwed the fans out of a nice day early or late in the season because he prefered to have it closed.

After all of this he still bashes managment and the city for reasons I'm sure he isn't even clear of.

^I heard they did the same things for RJ. I know RJ preferred wearing the solid white pinestripes uniforms (sans purple sleeves) because he thought it was harder for batters to see the ball. RJ always wanted the roof closed too, so I don't think these were things that were made special for Curt. And it seems like when Brian Anderson pitched the team often wore the solid purple tops, maybe that was coincidence, or maybe BA requested it, I don't know.

I think he bashes the Dbacks and Phoenix because he pitches for Boston, a lot of Red Sox fans are bandwagon idiots, and to appeal to those guys Curt does and says crap like his Diamondbacks ring is Ring B and his Red Sox ring is Ring A.

If I remember correctly the team allowed the starting pitchers to chose the uniform combination, it wasn't just a Randy or Curt thing.

As far as the roof, I don't really care. If it helps the Dbacks win then I'm all for it.

I believe you are correct, back in those days the Diamondbacks uniform was chosen by that night's starting pitcher.

I haven't really kept a running track record of things Schilling has said, however this comment burnt my ass hardcore.

I wasn't expecting the guy to discredit the one he won in Boston, and there IS something special about being a key to the Red Sox ending the "Curse", however this isn't marriage.. You don't have to trash your first in order to value your second.

Curt has always engaged his mouth before his brain.

Unfortunately, it has turned a good pitcher into a celebrity.

Y'know what they say -- bad publicity is better than none at all.

Human nature -- strange thing. And it's the public who encourages it.

It brings to mind another favorite axiom of mine. There is no gravity -- the earth sucks.
