We should have let him retire. You can't tell me we couldn't have found a better RT in FA or on someone's PS. He can't play on the right side and has been outmatched for two seasons. Time to sit him down, thank him for his time here, and have him sign a buyout agreement.

I'd try him at guard, were not good there either and he wouldn't have to handle speed rushers. When hump comes back, move Wetzel to RT

Totally different position and he's 6'8''. He just isn't worth a roster spot. Not that we are going anywhere this season, but we should move on before Carson gets killed.

Hate to tell ya, but Veldheer aint going anywhere. Benched maybe, but he wont be cut. This is the team we're stuck with as fans.

Options are limited. Just hope we don't look to next year's draft for a replacement. And I know it's not just the Cards, but many teams have missed out on "sure things" when it comes to the OL. But maybe since we've missed on so many, we're due.

Normally I would think this is an over reaction thread but he's been awful all 3 games. Worst RT play I have ever seen when it comes to pass protection.

It's pretty bad when he's getting beat so bad that I watched him more than the play.

Once Humphries is back, move Wetzel to RT and cut Veldher. Can't justify the cap space dedicated to him. He was a good soldier for 3 years though, so it's not like he was a bust.

Hey man he was really really good for our championship window but it's clear he's not that guy anymore. I can't hate him because without him we probably don't have that run we had but that window is closed now.

Time to move on

The only reason you don't start Veldheer is if Humphries comes back and you move Wetzel over. Other than that, the alternatives to Veldheer are worse.

His salary is guaranteed. Don't save much by cutting him now, but you murder your depth.

Veldheer isn't the problem. Moving him to a position he's never played is. He needs to stay at LT & let DJ play RT. That's if he's healthy.

Totally disagree. He played poorly last season. His mind & body checked out on this team when he had to take days off to mull retirement. His corpse is dressed in uniform & begging for burial.

64,000 people & 30 other teams can see Veldheer doesn't have the fire or skills to play NFL football at this point. This is a 10 year veteran not a rookie, whom have switch positions & played better.

Everyone needs to stop making excuses for Veldheer he's done!
