* While the Yankees' No. 1 priority is adding a right-handed setup man - Texas' Ugueth Urbina remains the favorite - they also are looking for a left-handed specialist and inquired about Diamondbacks veteran Mike Myers, who is being shopped to the Red Sox, Mariners and Royals.
The Yankees are wary of Myers' ugly numbers - 5.70 ERA in 40 games - but there are some in baseball that believe by changing leagues and with his submarine delivery Myers could be effective across the final three months of the season for the Yankees. Lefties are hitting .235 against the 34-year-old Myers, who has pitched for the Tigers, Brewers, Rockies and Diamondbacks.
Arizona is willing to part with him because Eddie Oropesa has replaced Myers as the club's lefty specialist.
