I've heard speculation that at one time the D-Backs were interested in Raul Mondesi.

* While the Yankees' No. 1 priority is adding a right-handed setup man - Texas' Ugueth Urbina remains the favorite - they also are looking for a left-handed specialist and inquired about Diamondbacks veteran Mike Myers, who is being shopped to the Red Sox, Mariners and Royals.

The Yankees are wary of Myers' ugly numbers - 5.70 ERA in 40 games - but there are some in baseball that believe by changing leagues and with his submarine delivery Myers could be effective across the final three months of the season for the Yankees. Lefties are hitting .235 against the 34-year-old Myers, who has pitched for the Tigers, Brewers, Rockies and Diamondbacks.

Arizona is willing to part with him because Eddie Oropesa has replaced Myers as the club's lefty specialist.

Mondesi is hitting .258 with 14 HRs. Right-handed power indeed, but an ugly contract, and head case. Cannon for an arm, though.

Vlad is still my choice :p, but Myers for Mondesi straight up doesn't seem like a bad idea at all, finances permitting.

I would hope so. He's a jinx.

Iwould rather have Vlad or Brian Giles. MLB Insidier says the Dodgers are interested, but I dont see any reason why he would not be a perfect fit for this team. He is a left Fielder, but I'm sure he could probably play RF for us.

How about a four-for-one deal with Montreal? They sign-and-trade Vladimir to us.

We trade Junior Spivey, Matt Mantei, Elmer Dessens, and throw in Tony Womack (we pick up the majority of the rest of his contract for the season).

With a 3-4-5 of Guerrero, Gonzo, and Hillenbrand . . . a starting rotation of Johnson, Schilling, Webb, Batista, and Good . . . Valverde as closer . . . and the rest of the supporting cast . . . PRINT UP THE WORLD SERIES TICKETS . . . for the next three years . . . at least!

LOL Don't see that happening.... the guy has been a season ticket holder since Day 1 and has never missed a game.

I inadvertently met him last season when standing in line for an hour and a half for a bobblehead (he was right in front of me)... He's definitely a geek (in some computer related field), and is not likely to move on when Myers does...
