No, this is not an old thread. Sports 620 is reporting that he will return with a 1-year deal.

Holy Cow, that came out of nowhere!

WOW... totally surprised... didn't expect this. We need a lefty in the rotation badly. Wonder how much we're paying... Had heard Saunders was originally looking for $7 Million plus over multiple years...

Last month Joe Saunders turned down a two-year, $12 million deal from the Diamondbacks and they non-tendered him rather than pay approximately $8 million for 2012 via arbitration, but the veteran left-hander said later that he “really wanted to come back” to Arizona and today he did just that.

Steve Henson of Yahoo! Sports reports that Saunders has re-signed with the Diamondbacks for an undisclosed one-year deal.

Yep... so, as I mentioned above... wonder what he settled for?? I guess it's probably somewhere in the 6-7 million range...which for a #4 or #5 is a bit on the high side. However, in this case, Saunders brings a great deal of veteran experience and again, would be the only lefty in the rotation.

I heard 6 mil. Not bad, our depth at starting pitcher is great, and we have lots of guys that will eat a ton of innings and keep our bullpen fresh.

Wow the Diamondbacks have had a hell of an offseason. Talk about playing your hand too perfection.

Can't wait for Spring Training.
