The White Sox, and the baseball world as a whole, were dealt another crushing blow on Friday when it was announced that White Sox rookie right-hander Michael Kopech was diagnosed with a “rather significant tear” in his ulnar collateral ligament, as diagnosed by Dr. Nik Verma. The recommendation, as it always seems to be these days, is that Kopech will have to undergo Tommy John surgery. A dejected Kopech told reporters on Friday that this news crushed him.
