NASCAR increased the size of the spoilers on the cars and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. believes that had a role in the near-tragic wreck of Ryan Newman at the Daytona 500. Newman was attempting to block Ryan Blaney when he was spun out, leading to the horrible crash. Earnhardt says the aggressive runs from trailing cars and the increase in blocking are all due to the bigger spoilers.
