my big picture analysis:

Working for the Cards:

Its a home game in the dome. The Cards at home have been very solid, and Warner in a dome has been excellent.

The Cards get the edge in the "who needs it more" category. I doubt any Cowboy would describe this Sunday as a "big game". Its a non division road game coming off of a home win for them. I am sure two thirds of their roster had already penciled in a "W" when the schedule came out. To the Cards, this is a big game and a number of players have identified it as such.

Working against the Cards:

Romo is exactly the type of QB that gives their defense fits -- mobile with a quick release. My concern is when the pocket breaks down, Romo (like Favre) will buy time with his feet and find the guy down the field.

Curious to see how the Cowboys will react to this week's "controversy" in the media -- that they are too satisified with themselves and mentally "fragile". Do they show up feeling like they have something to prove, or do they show up thinking that its just another game.

I think total sacks allowed or total sacks made is not a good idea of how well a team pass blocks or rushes the passer. It has to be put into context of how many pass attempts there is, or how many pass attempts can you get off per sack.

We are really ranked 15th in pass protection not 22nd. Is it any wonder Cutler is having his best year so far. Denvers pass blocking is freaking amazing, so is the Titans and Cowboys. It is going to be very tough to get to Romo this next game. but we should be able to rack up some good sack numbers after that. After the bye week we will have 6 out of 10 games against some of the worst pass blocking teams in the league.

there are some reasons to why I think the cowboys will take this game very seriously. they lost at home vs. washington and they won a tough game vs cincinnati. the media has been harder on them for the cincinnati game because the bengals are 0-5 and the cowboys had a 17-0 lead that was cut to 17-16. most of the critiques have been because the cowboys and their players would not express much frustration about the game in the media. they got nailed for doing it the week prior BTW. so I am a bit confused by that. but moving on because the cardinals are a great home team that won big last week. I don't see the cowboys thinking this will be an easy win especially coming off of the cincinnati game. If anything the cardinals would have been much better off had the cowboys thoroughly dominated the bengals.....if you are going to go the route of being overlooked. I think the cowboys players have sent the message that they have a lot to prove to themselves....rather than to the media.
