Doesn't sound like Sendek was able to close the deal. Let's see if Miller can.

Phoenix North’s Daniel Bejarano knows a lot about ASU, which lost out to Texas for a verbal commitment from the shooting guard prospect last November.
But what he doesn’t know is how he would fit into ASU’s scheme if he signs with the Sun Devils as a Class of 2010 recruit. After welcoming ASU coach Herb Sendek and assistants Dedrique Taylor and Lamont Smith on Sunday afternoon for a three-hour in-home visit, Bejarano still has questions about the Sun Devils.
“We’ve done research on them, and we saw that I would be one of nine guards (including point guards) if I signed to play there,” Bejarano said. “(In the meeting) they told me they don’t look at positions, they look at having the best players on the court, like a post (player) plus four, but I don’t know yet how I would fit into that.”
The numbers game is what made Bejarano back off his commitment from Texas. He views a similar logjam with ASU, but he’s providing Sendek and Co. the opportunity to present their case. Bejarano said “it looks like” he will take an official visit to ASU the weekend of Oct. 16-17 after he visits Arizona this Wednesday and Thursday.
He at first said he would announce his decision next weekend after returning from Tucson.
“The ASU coaches want me to come out for an official visit and watch them workout,” Bejarano said. “I’m interested to see their style of play and how they work on that in their workouts by being there in person.
“There are two things I am looking at the most: Style of play and playing time. I want to go into a program and make an impact right away. I’m not one to mess around. I want to be a contributor from the start and I want to play at a fast tempo.”
Ray Arvizu Jr., Bejarano’s mentor, traveling coach and assistant at North, said the official visit to ASU is not certain at this time “because Daniel is already familiar with their program.” There is always the possibility that they will be impressed by the UA enough after the official visit this week that a decision could be forthcoming next weekend as was first planned.
Miller and his staff will have another in-home visit with Bejarano on Monday night. The visit is another get-to-know you meeting because Bejarano has never had contact with the UA coaching staff before last week. In Arizona’s favor over ASU is the element of something new and exciting, whereas Sendek and ASU have been down this road before.
“Today’s meeting with Coach Sendek was informational, with a lot of stats and a pretty straight-forward power-point presentation pointing out how they use their guards and all of that,” Arvizu said. “But I don’t think Daniel was moved by it. He didn’t come away from it saying, “Wow,” like he did after Coach Miller’s visit. That has a lot to do with him already knowing what to expect from ASU.” He knows what to expect as far as the same recruiting pitch ASU used before he committed to Texas nearly a year ago. But he still does not know how he would fit in with the Sun Devils.
“They told me before I committed to Texas that I could be the next James Harden,” Bejarano said. “I’ve read that they have told (Class of 2010 recruit) Keala King (a shooting guard who has committed to ASU) that he will be the next James Harden. I don’t want to be the next James Harden. I am Daniel Bejarano.
“I want to find what’s best for me to develop. I’m looking for the best type of system and a situation where I can come in and make a difference right away.”
