Karlos Dansby was just on with Gambo and Ash.

He wants to give the Cards the first opportunity to give him what he's looking for, but the deadline is July 15th.

Is looking forward to hitting free agency.

Will not close the door on coming back to the Cards.

Understands that the Cards now have the target on them and hopes Dockett comes in at least to learn the scheme.

I wish they would have made him an offer or let him walk! That Franchise tag is gonna come back and bite this team.

I'm sorry I am not sure how? It shouldn't stop them from extending Wilson, and the other players due for big contracts won't be free agents after this year. All indications were that they didn't intend to be big players in FA this year either, so explain to be again how franchising Dansby this year is going to bite them?

The door.

Yep. Remember how last year it was Fitzgerald holding the team hostage because he secretly wanted out of here even though he repeatedly said he didn't? It's deja vu all over again with this Dansby bum.

Surely you jest! Not one common thread to this analogy. Dansby has made it CLEAR he wants to become a free agent. Which part of that do you not understand?

BS... He is going to grab the first good offer "he is looking for" and will never even stop to say goodbye... you will smoke behind.

Seeing the chance of being a free agent as a good thing does not equal a desire to get out of here.

And that's what everyone said about Lance Briggs and Leroy Hill.

LBs without huge sack numbers often inflate their value. Karlos is going where the $ is. So AZ just needs to choose if 1) they want to pay him "what he's looking for" and 2) if the market really values him at that same price.

I beleive Urban put it best:

he beleives Karlos not only wants the money with free agency, he wants to be "sought after" -- wined and dined by a couple teams, etc. -- the center of attention for a few days

There is a $ that would make that go away. If the deal is large enough he would be the center of attention for a few days.

Talk is cheap. Plus - we're only catching one-half of the debate over the issue. We'd be better off letting events come to us before passing judgments.

One thing to consider with Dansby is that he has been just as effective on the outside in a 4-3 as he has been inside in the Cards hybrid. So he isn't limited only to signing as an ILB with those teams running a 3-4 and may get paid OLB money instead ILB.

NFL teams aren't stupid, well most of them anyway, and they'll see those 8 sacks Dansby had in 2006 playing on the outside as well as his coverage ability and some will believe he can help them on the outside.

That would mean the Cards would have to pay more to get to what Dansby is looking for.

Either way it goes its going to cost the Cards either money or a high draft pick. But such is the price of success in the NFL.

I am still in the "patience" camp, not by much, but by a little. I believe that much of what matters isn't public and I'll withhold judgement for now. Yes, I want the Front Office to pull the trigger on something, but I also recognize it might be better not to shoot than to miss.
