Damn, oh well. Maybe they re-sign him to a one year prove it deal.

Wow, I thought they'd at least see if he can still play. I guess he had no remorse for his actions.

Now the question becomes, who will give him a chance? Raiders? Seahawks? 49ers? Patriots? Bengals? Browns? Jets? Cowboys?

Actually there's statement from the team saying after meeting with him they felt it was best for them to release him and for him to pursue opportunity elsewhere. Peace out DWash.

I'm surprised really. I figured they would at least see what he's got unless what he said in the meeting was just plan stupid.

So ridiculous. This should have been done three years ago, if that was their stance
That wasn't going to happen because then we would've taken the cap hit for the $10 million extension signing bonus all in 1 year instead of spreading it over 4 years. They also had no idea how long the suspension would last & if they would want Daryl back on the team afterwards since they weren't allowed to contact him.

At least this should be the last we have to deal with the name again. Unless he becomes an All-Pro elsewhere...

(I doubt it)

Maybe Daryl refused to renegotiate his contract or give the team any protection in case he gets busted for substance abuse again.

My reason for thinking this is that BA told ESPN:
One meeting with recently reinstated linebacker Daryl Washington might not be enough for the Arizona Cardinals. Coach Bruce Arians told ESPN he anticipates having “probably two or three or four more” with the former Pro Bowler.

Why say this & then cut him (after a 30 minute meeting) unless they heard from DWash's agent today that he wouldn't take a pay cut.

Everyone has to remember that nobody here was in that meeting and knows how it went. Secondly, nobody at all has seen him play NFL football in three years. Maybe he's the same player he was then and maybe he is not. To say anything else is pure speculation.
