You've got to be kidding me.

Who knows what he has left and how long before he gets suspended again, but anywhere near an old dwash coming back would be huge.

Both the Arizona Republic and AzCardinals.com consider suspended ILB Daryl Washington unlikely to be reinstated in 2017.

An Arizona television station reported Washington could be reinstated in March, but the sources closest to the team have a much different view. Now 30, Washington hasn't appeared in a game since 2013. For whatever reason, he doesn't seem willing to do what's necessary to get back in the league's good graces.

jesus... even if he's reinstated, he's still going to be suspended for at least 2 games if not more for his domestic violence incident and has a big contract. Wouldn't we much rather spend whatever money he's going to take up if he comes back on Campbell... a guy we KNOW will be on the field and is a key part of the D?

Yeah, I was surprised to hear this and I think it's more likely he's cut as this is the first year it makes financial sense to do so (4-5 mil cap relief). If he is anywhere close to himself, maybe keep him, but trust is going to be the biggest variable here.

He will be reinstated then cut. There's actually a cap savings by doing that.

The above situation is the only situation that I would be pissed. Cap BS aside, if they thought what he did was bad enough and wanted to cut him, then they should have done it long ago on pure principle. If they wait 3-4 years for him to be reinstated and then cut him, that's ridiculous. They had no problem cutting ties with M Floyd, Dwyer, etc...
At this point, if he gets reinstated, they might as well try getting some production out of him.

This is like having your "bad uncle" visit you yearly.

Bid Daryl a fond farewell and move onward toward winning the 2018 Super Bowl.

But you can't put CAP BS aside because cutting DWashout before this season was a BIG hit to the CAP. It's simply smart business.

I think there are financial reasons to hold on to him all this time. they have been trying to get some of the $10m back on principle. I am all for principle but sometimes like in the Floyd case I would have sat him and taken the comp pick that New England will get.

We can't say for certain that NE or AZ, had we kept him, would have garnered a comp pick.
