The dates for the Detroit Lions’ offseason program are set.

The team will convene April 22 to begin the first two phases, which last a combined total of five weeks. A ramp-up period of 14 days that is limited to meetings, strength and conditioning work and physical rehabilitation will precede a 21-day segment that features on-field workouts with instruction and a set of authorized drills conducted at a walk-through pace.

According to an NFL release, “no team offense vs. team defense drills” are allowed at that time.

From May 28-30 and June 3-5, the Lions will hold their organized team activities.

A mandatory veteran minicamp will then take place June 10-12. No live contact is permitted during those practice sessions. However, seven-on-seven, nine-on-seven and 11-on-11 drills are permitted.

The dates for the team’s rookie minicamp, meanwhile, have yet to be announced. But it must be held on either the first or second weekend following the NFL draft, which will be held in Green Bay, Wisconsin, from April 24-26.

The Lions are coming off a 15-2 regular season, their second straight NFC North title and a loss to Washington in the NFC divisional round.
