Did the Cardinals try to sign Macklin? It's looking more and more imperative that he is given a contract this week after all the corners being signed.

Nope. There are others that are better that could be had still.

I disagree and apparently the Cards really do like Macklin a lot. After he was benched for a while last year, he came back and played excellent football the last 5 or 6 games.

Macklin = Barrett

We must have one of them. I consider this more critical than signing Bert Berry. If we lose Barrett and don't replace him in FA, then we must draft 2CB among our first 4 picks. Not good.

Only if you consider Barrett as the 3rd CB on the depth chart. ;)

I agree that we should sign Macklin, but I ALSO think we should sign Taylor or Vincent as a short term (2-3 years) fix until A) Starks shows he can start most of a season for us and B) our 2nd round CB develops into a full time starter.

Tell me which you'd rather have

Starks
Macklin
Hill
Rookie

or

Taylor
Starks
Macklin
Hill
Rookie

To me it's a no brainer

Macklin played pretty well down the stretch for Indy last year. It's possible that the Cards have made him an offer. They made Hicks an offer that they didn't announce, so it's probable they made Macklin an offer too.

He visited the Bengals on Friday. I dont think he was given an offer there, at least not one that was made public.
