Rockies ended up winning last night so we are now 1/2 game back of Colorado and only 5 games ahead of Milwaukee... Not to mention that we continue to allow others to remain in touch (Cards, Pirates and Marlins).
We need wins in bunches... we are now 10 & 18 over the last 28 games and are leaving men on base at a record clip. The only reason we even have those 10 wins is due to our starting pitching. Our offense has completely disappeared.
Now, merely going .500 the rest of the way may not be good enough... and given our record over the past 28 games, I would say it's a long-shot for this team to go .500 over the balance of the season.
They desperately need leaders to stand up, speak up and show up. There aren't many on this team as they are so young. But guys like Goldy, Greinke, Descalso, Iannetta, Walker... Somebody needs to put this team on his shoulders and will them to some big W's... I don't have much hope for that however...

I'd be surprised - pleasantly, if we win 3 games over that stretch...

When you give up 34 runs in an inning, the LOB stat tends to get lost in the shuffle. lol
