What the hell?

This is a move that makes ZERO sense, IMO. He is a perfect backup at 1B and never seemed to complain about playing time. When he did play, he usually played very well on both ends.

I don't get it.

Rumor has Drew to the A's. Maybe they can throw in Cahill and get back Parker.

Overbay has been hitting around .100 for a while now. Not surprised, to be honest with you.

Looks like Wheeler played a third of his games at first this year, so I guess he will be backing Johnson and Goldie. Drew has to be move now.
I appreciate what Overbay has done for the D'backs since he returned.

But with Wheeler not having a shot at starting 3B with the arrival of Chris Johnson, at least it will give him more playing time, backing up both 3B and 1B. And Wheeler is a left-handed batter, as is Overbay. It makes sense to keep the younger guy.

Nevertheless, thank you Lyle for the positive energy and attitude you gave us during your two stints. And for playing such an important role in helping Paul Goldschmidt acclimate to the Major Leagues.

And, yes, hopefully Drew will be traded, leaving the combo of Bloomquist/McDonald to cover SS for the rest of the year, with results far greater than Drew.

And, while we are at it, let's give away Chris Young so Parra can take over CF full-time. Addition by subtraction.

Also, it is interesting that against the Dodgers tonight, Goldy hit a long fly to CF and it was a 3-run homer. Upton hit two long drives to the outfield and both were long outs. Some people have it and some don't.
