Randy Johnson 15,000,000
Curt Schilling 10,000,000
Matt Williams 10,000,000 GONE NEXT YEAR!
Matt Mantei 7,083,333
Tony Womack 6,000,000 GONE NEXT YEAR!
Steve Finley 4,250,000 (Is he a free agent next year?)
Luis Gonzalez 4,000,000
Miguel Batista 3,375,000
Danny Bautista 3,000,000
Elmer Dessens 3,000,000 (????)
Craig Counsell 2,516,667
Mark Grace 1,750,000 GONE NEXT YEAR!
Quinton McCracken ,750,000
Mike Myers 1,750,000
David Dellucci 900,000 GONE NEXT YEAR!
Carlos Baerga 500,000
Junior Spivey 432,500
Shea Hillenbrand 407,500
Rod Barajas 300,000
Mike Koplove 300,000 GONE NEXT YEAR!
Chad Moeller 300,000
Lyle Overbay 300,000
Bret Prinz 300,000
Stephen Randolph 300,000
Oscar Villareal 300,000

Looks like we are jettisoning almost $19 million next year in salary off the books! Also, isn't Finley a free agent next year? Is Dessens signed for just one year? That would be another $7.25 million there. We could look for a good young veteran guy to build with a multi year deal. Maybe a couple vets.
:D :D Of course some of these guys we have now could recontract for more money next year, but it won't be Randy Johnson money, that's for sure! :)

DOn't bet on it. The Dbacks way over extended themselves and will probably be looking to dump salary without taking on any new contracts.

They have a truckload of defered salaries to dish out over the next 2 years.

That's true, but then they went and got a few more millionaire investors this last off season that was supposed to help with those deffered payments. The Mondesi trade was supposed to work like almost getting him for free for the rest of the season, according to the radio guys. Of course we give up some young talent in return. I think if we end up just out of the wild card it could be a very interesting off season bringing in the babybacks, and maybe a free agent slugger.

Finley isnt a free agent next year. I think he had a 2 year deal with a team option for the 3rd year.

The interest on the defered payments is what is crippling the team right now

Koplove isn't gone next year

Why would you say he's gone? Finley is a 10/5 guy after this year if they don't trade him. Then he's in control.

And if I'm not mistaken, Mantei has a player option for $10 million in 2004. I'm not familiar with the terms, but I think we are stuck with him if he decides to exercise it.

I hope Koplove isn't going anywhere! Fins is here for another year, and Mantei has a 7 million option, but I presume we would trade him. We have a $5 Million option on Miguel, which, if he continues apace, I hope we might exercise - but we also have some youngsters probably ready to roll.

I think Q will be gone, Danny and/or Spivey may be gone, Myers will be long gone, one of our catchers will be gone - possibly Chad. And I get a feeling - maybe Shea will be gone.

Don't forget the Diamondbacks will be getting revenue from the TV deal now that they have been in the league for 5 years.
