Heard the Dbacks signed Ollie for 2 years and $4 million... If he is anything like he was when he pitched for the Mets, this would be a tremendous steal as he is/was absolutely lights out against lefties!

They were pursuing him. Good news! We would've started the season without a lefty relief specialist.

Hope he pitches as well here as he did in the friendly confines of Safeco, dude got lit up on the road last year.

He looked like a monster early in his career, had a cannon for an arm and had a huge season at 23 years old. Can't help but wonder if he may have been a juicer as his career, and velocity fell off a cliff right about the time the league started testing.

BTW, not trying to say "SCREW HIM HE JUICED AWFUL PLAYER!!!" I dont really care if a guy was juicing back then, it seems like everyone was and if a guy can play he can play (although those home/road splits are unnerving). Its just his velocity drop was so steep that I cant help but think he was one of the many.

Putz is 37 with a salary of 7 million. For what, the 6th or 7th inning?

Well, this dude is freaking terrible. 4.6 career ERA, 1.5 career WHIP, but hey, he had a career year in a pitchers paradise, better lock him up. Weeks into spring training and Perez had no job, most guys in that spot end up signing a one year deal for the minimum, Towers throws them multi-year deals.

Agents must start fist pumping as soon as they see Towers on their caller ID.
