Didn't see one of these yet so I thought I'd start one.

Owings goes 1-2-3 in the first. Byrnes strikes out. Drew battles (11 pitch AB), draws a walk, goes to third on a Hudson single that Ethier botched a bit in the outfield and then freakin' Tracy grounds into a double play. Really disappointing, men on 1st and 3rd w/ one out isn't going to happen a lot against Penny.

I think the NL Cy Young is going to be a neck and neck race between Jake Peavy and Brad Penny.

Hitters are starting to figure out Cole Hamels so I think he trails off toward the end of the season

Ugh, the game started out nice, but now it's starting to fall apart. The pitcher getting a 2 RBI double??? Hudson kept us close with that great play there, but the bullpen will really need to do well tonight.

Hmm, I would've put Clark in right there. He has a lot of power so there was more of a chance for a homer or double from him and his defense would be good to have at this point in the game if he couldn't get a hit.

You're right. He's closed his stance somewhat and moved farther from the plate. Evidently he had been having trouble with inside pitches.

Tonight is a game we need to win. We need to split the series, we have Brandon Webb going and from what I read I guess we've hit Lowe well. If we lose tonight it won't be good. You don't know what Johnson will give tomorrow so might as well win one with your ace.
