Well we saw some fun with the Dodgers' bench coach (I think) and Angel Hernandez the 3rd base umpire.

That was interesting

Drew gets a nice ovation for his first major league hit.

Drew looks like the Drew we saw down here in Tucson all year.

Byrnes hits a three run homer to give the Dbacks a 8-2 lead.

This is a big series and that was a great way to start it off. We are now 2nd in the division and also in the wild card race! Enrique did a nice job pitching and those hits really helped. If he would just because a more consistent pitcher I'd love him in the rotation with his batting. That was a nice home run by Byrnes too. The guy has really surprised me this season. I've also been very impress with Drew's D. He's made some very nice plays. If he can add some offense to what he's been doing on the field then the D-Backs could make a run at getting a playoff spot. Getting to the playoffs this year would be awesome.

Hopefully Cojack will be back on first although I must say Green looked better at first than he does in right field.

Yet again, another "no-name" (yes, he is a good prospect) pitcher baffles the DBacks. You can almost predict these games against young, struggling pitchers.

Clark was placed on the DL and Tony Pena was called up from AAA Tucson before the game.

He and Penny were rumored to be part of the Unit-Dodgers deadline deal a couple years ago. From what I remember the sticking point was Edwin Jackson who at the time the Dodgers deemed untouchable and has since turmed into a younger Russ Ortiz.

Pretty pathetic that a guy who was averaging almost a walk per inning going into this game got through seven innings with only two walks. Nice scouting report Melvin, and the guys hacking away at the first pitch (yeah, I'm looking at you Gonzo) are equally embarassing.

I've got to say watching Drew has probably been the most fun Ive had watching the Dbacks all year. I hope they can get 1 or 2 more prospects up soon, its a lot of fun watching them develop.

3 extra base hits for Drew tonight.

The first 3 of his career, including a triple. That'll help the slugging percentage.

And a 2.5 hour game! Bravo, D-backs!

I’ve been saying the same thing. It is so much more fun to watch when you get to see these guys come up that are from the system.

Today's Tribune states that the Diamondbacks will send Edgar Gonzalez back to AAA Tucson today and that a corresponding roster move will be made. Im guessing they want to bring up a bench player.
