Diamondbacks leading the Nationals 4-2. Brandon Lyon comes in to relieve and now we're down 6-4

What is up with this kid? Is it physical or totally mental?? At this point Clarabell should NEVER, EVER, EVER put him in with a slim lead. Heck, not even with a fairly comfortable lead. Apparently the learning curve for BoMel is pretty high.... :bang:

You've seen a learning curve? Geez...looks flat-line to me.

Lyon and the also Vizcaino. Just could NOT figure out a way to let medders stay in the game, eh?

AAAARRGGHHHH! I can't stand Clarabell!

I guess 10 walks trumps 4 HRs.

We are way too curteous to the team from our nation's capitol. :)

Am I imagining things or does Conner Jackson's "plate discipline" get him in a lot of 0-2 counts?

Who is "Conner Jackson?"

:D

At any rate, Jackson's K:BB ratio is still outstanding for a guy in his first year, better than anybody else on the team aside from Gonzo. Nobody is perfect obviously, but his eye for the strike zone is almost unparalleled in such a young hitter.

Yeah I've thought the same thing. I just wish that he would swing at a first pitch for once. It's pretty much a given that he takes the first 3 pitches.

I guess this team just totally gave up I mean in both recent games they have had a great chance to win the game with leads late in the game but of course our pathatic useless bullpen comes in and blows the lead i'm really getting tired of this :( we had a couple of good wins their but you need more then a 2 game win streak to get back in the playoff hunt which their what 6 games out of the wildcard now?

Homers by Drew, Snyder, Jackson, and Hudson propel the Dbacks to a 4-2 win today.

Oh sorry I meant Conor Jetson. The space cadet that plays first base for the Dbacks.

Conor's plate discipline gives him the best OBP of any regular player on the team, and in the top 50 in all baseball. That's with getting no Ump respect, as a rookie. He's one of our top guys in rbis and decent HR and SLG for a rookie, too. Leave his hitting alone. The last thing we need is another young hitter getting told to be more aggressive (shades of Chad Tracy.)

Alas, 11 more Ks than walks means I probably won't collect on my beer bet. Bummer.

Jackson, Drew and Quentin combine to go 6-10 with 2 walks, 2 HRs and a double. And we win! :bday:
