DBacks vs Orioles series thread

Orioles win 7-1 in a cake-walk over Webb and the DBacks. Cabrera pitches a no-hitter through five, giving up a double (and the the only DBack run) to Byrnes in the 6th. 3 errors and 4 runs (all unearned) in the 2nd do in the DBacks.

Tracy had two of the errors, and my belief is that the other, which was charged to Webb, was Tracy's fault as well as he completely botched a pickoff/rundown along with Drew, who the last second to make an akward throw to Webb on third just as Payton was getting there.

Just a miserable effort all night. Tracy was particularly disgusting as he airmailed first base on a pretty easy play to start the "uncle" call for the team. It was all downhill (and very fast) from there. I would much rather see Reynolds play, whether he can still hit or not.

On a positive note, the bullpen threw 4 scoreless innings.

The bad news - we have Livo and Davis up next to finish out the series. Could get ugly unless they reverse course in a hurry and the offense realizes that the break was only one day, not three.

Uhh, Tracy's stupid ass'd throwing error cost the game by putting the team out of it early. Sorry but judging a game by the box score is a little silly

Well he should be at first base where he's 100x better than Jackson. And Reynolds hasn't been hitting lately so one bad defensive game by Tracy wouldn't make me put Reynolds over him.

I hear what you are saying, but with the offense this poor, defensive mistakes cannot be tolerated. I know it is one game out of many and I am overreacting out of frustration. But Tracy just doesn't do anything for me as a DBack.

Actually, Tracy and Reynolds are quite comparable as far as offense goes. Keep in mind that Tracy has roughly 25% more at-bats than Reynolds when comparing the slight differences in RBI (6) and runs scored (4). Anyways, I just want everyone to start producing...

If he can keep kids, and some adults, from getting cancer, I'll gladly listen to Joe talk about it a couple of times each game he does.

As long as we don't have to listen to a bunch of his Yogi Berra stories.

The guy played Major League baseball, despite not having alot of baseball talent. He's done both TV play-by-play and color. He's even hosted the Today Show. And raised a son to be Jerry Colangelo's gopher -- I mean General Manager.

And Joe, Sr., is still going strong. Good for him.

8-3 DBacks. Another good game with a decent offensive showing. I figured that Webb would get the only series win with Livo and Davis taking losses. Well, I was wrong. Davis pitched a nice game - lots of hits but only two runs. Livo was not very good last night but he was yanked early enough.

Good series win.
