I read that earlier. I think I could do it. :)

I think you need to enlist. Now that you can play the "wii" as your job and get paid for it.

Iraq here you come! :)

Well, I didn't say that, but I do say that.

If it would make him happy, that's all that matters.

I don't think I could take being without my children for 3 months while in Basic. I have contemplated going back into the military a few times actually.

I think you're too old now, anyway. Used to be 27 was the cut-off. You could add years if you had prior service (like my ex could have gone back in up until he was 31, since he had 4 years in the AF).

Is that still true? Last I looked was about 5 years ago...

What branch were you in? You can subtract the years of service and depending on branch you wouldnt have to redo basic.

I googled my comment. Age is 27 for Air Force; others are much older, so you're not too old.

I don't think so.

People have joined the military in their 30s

Navy. Lasted one month through basic. Maybe I'll stare that story with you over a beer one time...

Oh ok got ya. Cant wait to hear it! I know that if you had been through the Army or Marine BMT you dont have to redo it if you join at a later time with the Air Force or the Navy.

The PT was the part I looked forward to/enjoyed the most. 10 years later, I don't know how I'd feel about it, but I'm sure I could hold my own.

Correct. Also you could go through the NAVY BMT and if you later joined the AF you wouldnt have to do it either.

The AF is the only one that if you joined the other 3 you would have to redo BMT.

I've always wondered about cross pollination.

Say if I was a guy in one branch who got out, then wanted to join another branch, years later? Redo of training?

I'd hope if it was Army or Corps, they'd be able to transfer to the weaker-sauce Navy or Air Force no problem. :)

Pretty sure that's how it works.
