Jason Momoa in Talks to Join Batman-Superman Movie

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/jason-momoa-talks-join-batman-664185

Jason Momoa is in negotiations to join the cast of the untitled Batman-Superman movie being made by Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.

It's unclear whom Momoa will play due to the Kryptonite lock on the project’s details. There's been speculation that the movie's villain could be Doomsday, a Kryptonian scientifically engineered into an intergalactic killing machine. Doomsday famously “killed” Superman in the comics, which became a media event in 1992. The character's existence is even hinted in the extras of the Man of Steel Blu-ray.

However, a source speculated that if Warners is populating the movie with members of the Justice League, Momoa could also play the Martian Manhunter, a super-powered alien trapped on Earth. Momoa, with his muscular physique, could be a fit for either character.

Is it a stretch to think of Lobo when I heard of this casting?

He would be a perfect physical casting choice for Lobo. However, considering the fact that he didn't have the acting range to pull of Conan I would doubt he would be a good Lobo.

ignore Conan. that movie was a disaster. he was great in Game Of Throne as Khal Drago.

I get what he is saying though. Lobo is like the Darnell Dockett of the DC universe. Even in GoT, he was intense and reserved in his delivery. Maybe he doesn't have the range.

Also, can we now cast Dockett as Lobo?

I've never seen Game of Thones, but Fart-Box as Lobo?

Hell. Yes.

Is it me or do some of these films feel like they are character jamming? I hate it when they try and put to many characters from a universe into a single film. Even a movie like the Avengers has limits before you dilute the film.

It's not just you, it's becoming a problem in movies now IMHO.

I think the jamming in Avengers worked because each of the main characters had stand alone films to introduce them, and Joss did a great job of getting everyone their screentime.

They are, but it's also how they're getting more characters introduced for Justice League before introducing them prior, ala Avengers.

I keep reading mixed dates for JL, but a lot of speculation is that this will be the setup movie for JL.

Joaquin Phoenix Could Play Lex Luthor in 'Man of Steel' Sequel

http://www.rollingstone.com/movies/...of-steel-sequel-report-20131218#ixzz2nveEcC00

The rumors continue to swirl around the upcoming Man of Steel sequel. Now Joaquin Phoenix is reportedly the latest high-profile actor being courted for the role of Lex Luthor.

According to unnamed sources, the Oscar-nominated star is in early talks with Warner Brothers to play an unidentified role believed to be Luthor, Superman's infamous arch-nemesis, reports Variety. Phoenix's representatives declined to comment on the rumor and, as Variety notes, the actor might not even accept the role if he's offered it.

A blockbuster superhero film does seem like an odd choice for Phoenix, who has been avoiding mainstream films lately and earning major acclaim in the process. This year, he appeared in Spike Jonze's buzzed-about film Her, playing a disillusioned man who falls in love with a computer operating system; he also earned a Best Actor nomination last year for his performance in Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master, which Rolling Stone ranked the best film of 2012.

movie just got pushed a full year to 2016.

http://www.deadline.com/2014/01/batman-superman-movie-moved-to-may-6-2016-warner-bros/

I''m gonna take this as a GOOD sign, meaning they knew the script wasn't ready (always seemed REALLY fast that they were gonna get this sucker turned around within one year of Man Of Steel coming out) and wanted to work on it more before they possibly put out a turkey that would destroy both franchises is one fell swoop.

still skeptical of the talent involved and hoping this doesn't mean it just gives them more time to Justice League this movie up, but more time means more work on the story and that could be a very good thing.

Interesting choice.

I kinda like it. If Superman and Lex are supposed to be roughly the same age, then Cranston would have been way off. I think it is an inspired casting choice. Now they just have to give him something to actually do other than a complex real estate scheme.

Ray Fisher to Play Cyborg In ‘Batman-Superman’

http://variety.com/2014/film/news/batman-superman-cyborg-ray-fisher-1201163390/

After testing actors over the past couple of weeks, Warner Bros. and DC have tapped theater actor Ray Fisher for the role of Cyborg in the untitled Batman-Superman pic.

Victor Stone or Cyborg, while not a major part in the Batman-Superman feature, is a member of the Justice League, and the role will become much more significant role as Warner and DC develop more films related to the Justice League universe, sources confirm.

Warner Bros. had no comment on this story.

Fisher joins the Batman-Superman cast that includes Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Jesse Eisenberg, Gal Gadot and Amy Adams.

Why don't they just release the official title as JUSTICE LEAGUE and be done with it already.

I really think this movie is going to be a trainwreck.
