Who now is the odd man out concerning our DE rotation now that we have 6 of them.

In no particular order:

1. Berry(safe, well duh)
2. Pace(safe, to young to let go, Green would want to see what he can do with the right coaching)
3. King(same as pace, or try him out in the DT rotation and get rid of a DT)
4. Johnson(same as Pace)
5. Wakefield(Green said he liked him, but was it just a motivational tool.)
6. KVB(really bad knees to work with)

I say, we wont cut any of them until at least after the first mini camp so Green and the new dline coach can get a first hand look at them. Wakefield and KVB, one or both are the likely suspects to get a pink slip.

My guess: Berry, Pace, Johnson, KVB. Wakefield and King compete for a pass-rushing position at tackle on passing downs.

With Berry's signing.....King will be re-deployed as a DT....which is why we didn't focus on signing Robaire Smith (hindsight being 20-20).

Wakefield and KVB wouldn't even crack the rotation on any other team in this league

Really! Then you won't mind taking the time to break down the DE position for the other 31 teams for us...

I'm just happy to see our "starters" from 2 years ago rated 5 and 6 on your list up there. That alone tells me we've upgraded this team. Hopefully more to come!

I think as of now the rotation looks like this.

RDE Bertrand Berry, Calvin Pace
RDT Kenny King, Marcus Bell, Barron Tanner
LDT Wendell Bryant, Russell Davis
LDE Dennis Johnson, Kyle Vandenbosch, Fred Wakefield

Obviously Berry is good, and so is Pace - I would assume they would rotate (Ie: obvious run situation)

King could be ok, but I would like to have a bigger DT here and move King to the #2 man. Hopefully we can take a BIG DT in the draft or FA to play along Bryant.

I assume Bryant will improve alot! He will be motivated to work as he has a new coach.

DJ could be VERY good. He improved VERY much last year (and got bigger), and with proper coachimg could be very good.

I agree that Berry and Pace will rotate, Berry on passing downs. I expect the Cardinals to draft a DT this year in the first three rounds unless they get a free agent they really like.
From what I seen of DJ last year, I think he will be the starting leftend. I agree with you that he improved and looked very good last year.

So we're going to go with King and Bryant? Russell Davis is a decent back up, but theres no way we're going anywhere with him starting 16 games.

King and Bryant would not be good enough for me, at least not based on what either did last season. Probably one of the two is good enough to start, but your risking the season going with those two as your starting DTs.

K9s been pimping a big run stuffing DT. I'm on board for that, but we've got to get some CBs in the draft before that. This draft is a little weak on D lineman anyway.

Respectfully suggest that the odd men out and odd men in will be the dudes who get it done (or don't get it done) on the football field between now and opening day.

We are blessed (or cursed) with a number of guys who can fit into either category (and hopefully we have a new line coach who can get the best out of all of them).

Hurray for competition!

Actually the draft is said to be short on talent @ DE but extremely deep @DT. Just where we need to improve now.

Johnson will make the cut, not only did he produce last year but he worked his butt off in practice.

That leaves Wakefield and KVB battling and they both work hard as well.
