“I’ve played a lot of ball, so there are a lot of things that I see,” Hopkins said Wednesday of his in-game communication with his head coach. “But at the same time, Kliff does a great job of calling plays and putting us in position. It’s just on us to execute.”

Thoughts?????

I think a WR receiving double digit targets per a game is certainly going to say this

It brings reason to believe he is 100% lying based on the evidence acquired from this board that Kliff is an awful playcaller and there is no way his system works in the NFL. He also is part of the secrety society that holds player only meetings to dis all the coaches, specifically the playcalling by Kliff because he's never had a winning record.

He is just playing it cool because the team doesn't want  that kind of drama on hard knocks. It's just an elaborate ruse to keep the the fans content enough to eek out the season and bridge the hype for next season, which they will be praying for turnaround and hope you don't notice you're still being swindled.

Or he and perhaps other players may genuinely like and approve of his playcalling, but there's no way to know what's true.

Kyler also said the scheme isn't the problem.. seems to be coming through the grapevine the players don't thing Kliff is the problem.

Any wr that gets 22 catches in two games is going to be ecstatic.

Possibly. Or he could just mean what he says…. How many targets did he average the previous 2 years?
Ertz could also mean what he says about running the route, but you don’t take his own word for it for some funny reason, lol.

I said it could be the truth. But he could also be covering for his guy. Certainly not unheard of. You acting like that’s not possible is silly.

I just dont see Hop needing to cover for KK. Hop is the Alpha WR he’s gonna get his in any Offense. History proves that. He has nothing to gain by praising KK. Literally nothing.

And FYi I dont agree with him.

Hop is arguably covering for Kliff due to all the scrutiny Kliff has received from the national media & everyone else below that. That’s a clear & obvious reason. I just don’t think you want it be because of your feelings for one player versus the other.

The head coach has also been putting Hopkins in motion pre-snap. His one-handed TD grab in Sunday’s 34-26 loss to the Minnesota Vikings came after pre-snap movement, marking the first time Hopkins did that in the Next Gen Stats era (since 2016).

I have never seen a WR who is getting 14 targets a game complain about the offensive playcalling. WR's typically care more about getting theirs than getting wins.

You could be right. I do t see it. But I can’t discount it.

Since his return, DeAndre Hopkins is not the problem. I'm glad he is making up for lost time.

You don’t think the exact same thing can be said about why Ertz is covering for Kyler, who’s been getting raked over the coals the entire off and regular season?

Weird. I can see clear reasons why Hop and Ertz would be covering for their guys. Both Kliff and Kyler have been slaughtered in the media for almost a year.

I never implied Ertz was or wasn’t covering otherwise in my initial post.

I actually do believe Ertz *was/is* covering for Kyler, just like Hop is covering for Kliff due to the media storm for both. I just wanted to point out the hypocrisy in that statement.
