I may be writing this to you a bit prematurely but it appears to be pretty apparent that Anderson is going to be our starting Qb. You built quite a legacy since you were hired to be the bead coach of this franchise. You have won over mangement, the Fans and the community with the accomplishments you have helped this organization achieve.
Your first year there were some detractors that claimed you were the benefactor of Dennis Greens evaluation and collection of talent. Funny thing is he never won with those players.
It's kind of ironic one of the first real "controversies" of your tenure here was deciding to start Kurt Warner. Trust me when I say there were many of us who thought it was the wrong decision then. We were wrong.
Move forward to the start of year four. After three winning season, 2 West Division titles, an NFC Championship, a Super Bowl Appearance and 4 playoff victories we are in a very similar situation as we were just 2 short years ago.
The difference is the QB you appear to have chosen doesn't have the resume' that Warner did. You were able to recapture the Kurt Warner magic he had earlier in his career.
But this is different. You have gone all in on a QB that is nowhere near as accomplished or accurate as Kurt Warner. There are many fan's that believe to this day you can actually walk on water. The faithful are going to sit back and say "In Whiz We Trust". In the past, just about ANY decision you made was fine with me. The last time I questioned you, ironically, was when you decided to go with Warner. However, we at least had a glimpes and hope of Warners capabilities by what he did in the last 8 games of the prior season after Leinart got hurt.
I will stand by your decision and I can only hope you see something in Anderson that many of us don't. I can only hopy your are a true genius and are capable of suddenly turning this QB into an above average QB and we don't end up going through the Jake Plummer syndrome all over again. You know....great one play and su...well not so great the next. I hope beyond hope we (many of us) are wrong again.
I must warn you though. Fans are fickled. Over the last few years Cardinal Fans were petitioning to rename the Grand Canyon after you. If this decision blows up and turns into a 6-10 season, these same fans will be ready to throw you in it.
Sincerely,
slanidrac16
