Texas A&M's 2025 spring football season officially began last Friday during the first open practice to the media. A closed weekend session followed, and the third practice occurred on Tuesday afternoon. In an offseason highlighted by a lack of excitement from the fan base after A&M's 1-4 finish after starting 7-1 and undefeated in SEC play last season, the new additions to the roster have certainly brought back some of the Aggie faithful.

Spring practices aren't going to turn heads due to the lack of live tackling and gameplay until scrimmages and the eventual Maroon & White spring game take place, but paying attention to the areas of worry/weakness during the 2024 campaign and looking for any sign of progress tells more of a story than some may think.

Less than a month before the 2025 NFL Draft, three former Aggie defensive linemen will likely be selected in the first three rounds, led by Combine standout Shemar Stewart, followed by Nic Scourton and Shemar Turner. Their collective departure led to head coach Mike Elko adding four veteran edge rushers from the transfer portal, but the interior defensive line depth remains an issue.

Still, Elko has time to add one or two more depth pieces to the D-line through the spring transfer portal before the summer. Focusing on offense and defense, including starting quarterback Marcel Reed's ongoing development and new wide receiver KC Concepcion, the highlights from Texas A&M's third practice are provided by 247Sports' Carter Karels and Austin American Statesman's Tony Catalina.
