Derek is a royal piece of poo, but he brought up the issues with locking up coolers and paying for items normally given to players for free

This isn't the first time this was brought up on this board... but the guy was complete trash, so I don't know. It was very conveniently released right after that report was out about the player poll. I'm sure we were still charging for takeaway meals since that practice continued until recently, but I still haven't felt like we need to pay for players' food and drinks 24/7 when not practicing.

This is also a guy who took things so seriously that we were furious for him at laughing on the sidelines during big losses. He was awful.

Who is “we”?

You’re not Michael Bidwill. I’m not Michael Bidwill. We’re not billionaires. This does not affect our much, much, much, much lower salary compared to Bidwill, who seems to be the only billionaire in the league to do such a cheap thing.

Derek Anderson’s ability is moot to this statement. He has more insight in the organization & owner than either of us ever will. I believe it’s better to take his words for it than anyone else’s on this board.

"We" as in the Cardinals. As fans. If I were posting on a general NFL forum I would say "the Cardinals."

Should Bidwill be doing whatever he can to keep his franchise competitive with others? Sure. Do I really care at all if multi-millionaires need to pay to take home a packed dinner from work? No. Especially not when they're players of Derek Anderson's caliber who should be counting his blessings he got paid $7.25 million by a professional team to be a starter when after his Cleveland stint he should have been paying for his own Gatorades and dinner on the way home from coaching a local high school football team.

I get that. However, “we” in this context was you basically acting as if it’s affecting your bottom dollar when in-fact the only one it affects is a billionaire’s. Unless you’re Michael Bidwill himself, this does not affect “we”.

Everything you posted after this is moot, because he certainly wasn’t doing that until that survey came out a couple months ago.

If every other NFL team is doing this, I'd love to hear your rationale for the Cards choosing NOT to do it.

Seems pretty stupid to be the only one not providing a perk!

Old News. Back in 2010 old man Dollar Bill was still the owner of the team. We all know how cheap he was!

Derek Anderson was a one trick pony with a big mouth and a bad attitude.

Straight beatoff. Why anyone would trust this bozo with any pertinent information is beyond me.

You're seriously acting like Dollar Bill was the only one tight with money? Were you hibernating last year when MB was ranked dead last in the league for pulling the same crap as his old man?

IMO, if it's appropriate to use "we" in other threads about the Cardinals, it should be appropriate in all threads. Nobody questions the use of "we" in other threads, it's understood what's meant. We, as in you and me, are not throwing passes, catching balls, making tackles, etc.

What does that have to do with the price of tea in China? Should I gather something about the Rams based on the fact they're at the bottom?

Anderson criticized the Cards for operating unlike other NFL teams, including the dregs.

Calling it old news or acting like it's a relic of BB shows a complete ignorance to our current plight. If you really need the gory details again, here they are: https://nflpa.com/arizona-cardinals-report-card

What's funny is the cards are one of 2 teams to have their own plane, and the largest mind you, and they are Tied for 12th in travel. They must get put up at the Motel 6.

From the article; "Players reported that in previous years, the team used a large plane so that all players had lay down seats. This past season the Club switched to a smaller plane, which limited the number of lay down seats so many players have worse seats and less space now."

Interestingly they used to charter an Atlas Air 747-700 which would've been set up in a VIP config with a minimum of 64 business class to first class seats which almost would exclusively be lie flat in a 747. Sounds like Bidwill's 777 has more of a standard First Class/Business/Economy layout. Yuck.

Not only does this clown rank really low at the QB position with a franchise that historically has maybe the lowest bar in the NFL at that position, but he’s also one of the biggest douchebags our franchise has ever paid also. Not that the Bidwills don’t deserve criticism, but criticism from Anderson has zero credibility.

I played golf with a former NFL DT the other week. His name is Derrick Ransom. He played mainly with the Chiefs but played for the Cards 1 year.
I asked him how it was playing for the Cardinals. His first response was how cheap the owner was, lol.

He played back in 2003.

He’s a super nice guy and happened to have a hole in one that day.

Bucket list item is a hole in 1. Closest I ever got on a Par 3 about 150 is maybe 5 inches. Now I consider myself happy if I can even hit the green.

Another random fact. I also want to bowl a perfect game. My closest was 269 with 9 strikes in a row to start the game. Now I'm lucky to bowl a 200. :(
