the dbacks are in a bad place as a franchise. poor decisions repeated over and over. trading the youth with promising futures for rent a players.

the pitching is a nightmare. this isn't just 5 starters in slumps, there's more to it. 2011 we were looking to be top dogs by 2014, we had just won the division with a thick farm system behind us. now we have a 4-14 team and no exciting prospects on the horizon outside of Bradley.

it's early but look how eaton is playing for the white sox. Skaggs has looked decent for the angels. addison reed had an era of close to 4 last year, as a closer that's pretty high. our bullpen is goofy, how many guys do we have that throw gimmicky sidearm. where's the power guys who throw mid 90s?

side not and personal opinion but the uniforms are trash too. we have nothing going for us. this isn't an orgonization hellbent on winning. what's the vision? you wan guys like Miggy and prado to produce like they once did. but what do you expect from pollock and a rookie SS?

the Astros have a brighter future than us. let that sink in.

Yeah but they weren't gritty and were bad teammates in the locker room. Justin Upton has been on a tear and anyone who thinks Trumbo is a better fit than Justin must be related to Towers. Eaton hit at every level and this year is doing what the Diamondbacks are missing. Towers has no patience and if he continues to be in charge of trades, it will take years before this team can even be competitive.

No kidding. I like Derrick Hall, I really do. That said I've often referred to him as Derrick rah-rah. He's always a cheerleader for the D-Backs and always tries to put a positive spin on things. He's the anti-Steinbrenner.

As far as the power guys? Amen. Look at the Cardinals bullpen. They bring out flamethrower after flamethrower. I know velocity isn't the be all and end all, but it's a good starting point.

They both had attitudes. Just shut up and play.

According to our unprofessional front office that uses backwards logic to justify stupidity they had "attitudes". According to their current teams and the previous regimes here those players were hard workers and team players.

KT has shown an ability to sour on a player in a heartbeat. I put zero stock what he thinks of a players "attitude" when he publicly airs his dirty laundry on a regular basis. And its hard for me to say Eaton and Upton need to "shut up and play" when they said nothing, literally nothing besides what you'd hope they would, despite how often (especially in Upton's case) the front office was ripping them in the press.

To be fair, it was an anonymous Diamondback player that ripped Eaton so who knows what went on there.

completely agree. which is why I have no faith in the front office. once Hall moves on to the MLB offices and KT gets the boot, we are staring sub par baseball in the face. let's just hope Goldy keeps his cool, otherwise we might trade him for Joe Saunders

Justin Upton is probably a bad example to use. As I recall, he hit a boat load of home runs in April last year but finished: BA-.263, OBP-.354, OPS-.464, HR-27, SLG-.818. Not exactly hall of fame stuff.

Does he think we are really going to believe this? He just needs to admit that Towers has taken a playoff team a few years ago and basically turned it into the worst team in baseball.

Do you honestly think he would just come out and admit something like that?

However, unless this team has some sort of miracle run the rest of the season it's pretty certain Towers (and Gibson) will be gone.

Still it was quite a bit better than Trumbo, younger than Trumbo and he is immeasurably better in the field.

I don't give a rat's rear end if players have attitudes. As long as they produce on field and stay out of trouble with the law off it, the "bad attitude" nonsense is just that. Barry Bonds was one of the biggest pricks in MLB history. He also was one of the greatest players in MLB history.

And tell me what he has done? People put up with Bonds because he was great. Harper has been average at best. Funny how Trout just got a nice big fat extension, while Harper is being talked about for his attitude.

He has 43 homers, 30 stolen bases, a .271 BA and a .351 OBP in his first two seasons in the bigs. I'd hardly call that average at best.

Mike Trout's first two seasons.

AVG HR RBI SB
.314 67 207 88

Don't forgets Harpers 122 RBIs in those two season.

Harper will be DJ Drew at best.

Trout has been the 2nd best hitter in baseball the last two years, if you're trying to prove Harper is "average" then thats an unfair comparison.

Harper is a 21 year old with a .825 career OPS, thats pretty damn good.

Sorry, I think that came across wrong. My point was that Trout had his own issues, like coming into camp 20 pounds heavier. He is producing, so no cares, but Harper has not done anything yet. He won ROY and was an AS last year based on his name and not production and has a piss poor attitude, but he will get get $20 million a year when his extension comes up. He is not worth that, but he is a Boras client, so he will get it. I would not want him on my team with his attitude.
