Both Aldama and Bane said after Saturday's loss to the Lakers that they had talked after that moment and buried the proverbial hatchet. "Two competitors," Bane said. "We're scratching and clawing against a Utah team on the road. We're trying to push each other to be better. And that was pretty much that. I probably took it too far. I love Santi. He was in my wedding, I'll be in his wedding. We talked right on the bench right after, hugged it out in the locker room and everything's great."

So much to unpack tonight, so did this notebook style:

- Grizz reactions to firing + team meetings

- Bane and Santi on the Utah argument

Quote of the night, IMO:

The Grizzlies' trio of stars brought the team together for a meeting following the news of Jenkins' firing.

Bane on that moment: "I just wanted them to get out all their raw emotions. Don't hold nothing back. Let it all out, and that way we can truly - 11:54 PM

The Lakers can't seem to miss from 3, or make a shot at the rim, with several layups rimming out, but 12 for 22 3's falling.

Grizzlies got a transition 3 from Bane after the latest missed layup, helping cap a 6-0 run that trimmed the margin to 11. - 8:52 PM

More on this storyline

Aldama echoed the sentiment. "Little disagreement," he said. "Definitely not a good look. Not going to sit here and act like it's nothing, but we talked about it . . . It would be worse if we had a bunch of guys that just sat down, twiddled their thumbs and just acted like they were just fine with the situation. We want to win. We're competitive. We just said what we said and then moved on." -via Memphis Commercial Appeal / March 31, 2025
Earlier this week, during a 37-point shellacking of the Utah Jazz, starting guard Desmond Bane and reserve Santi Aldama exchanged shoves on the bench after a disagreement about defense. According to a league source who witnessed the interaction in person, effort — or lack thereof — was the focus of their friction. It began when Bane asked Aldama a rhetorical question. “Are you gonna f—ing guard anybody?” he shouted. Aldama responded, “F— you,” to which Bane fired back, “No, f— you. Play harder.” -via New York Times / March 29, 2025
