According to Detroit radio, there is a deal on the table from Detroit who is offering Rasheed and Stuckey for Amare. I think we have heard this before but I guess some Detroit sports talk radio station is saying they confirmed it with sources inside the team.

Take it for what it is worth because a previous report said Stuckey was untouchable. I don't know how realiable these guys are since I don't live in Detroit. So, take this with a grain of salt. I can't see Detroit willing to give up Stuckey.

The SUNS would HAVE to consider this deal.
They'd have to turn right around and move Nash also...which is what i believe this team needs to do.
Been saying this since the day DA left town.
I find it very hard to believe that Detroit GM Joe Dumars would move Stuckey however.

Addresses both the present and the future. I wish ASFN fans could pull the trigger (instead of Kerr) on any proposed trades. I'd want a 2010 pick as well.

Someone merge the 2 threads please.. I replied on the other one. :-D

But yes I like...

Nash should stay I think, Stuckey ISNT a playoff performer... you wont win a ring with him... well Nash atleast has a better chance at this point in their careers.

Best deal I've seen thus far. Allows the Suns to make the playoffs this year and get a player to build around in 2010 free agency.

I agree with the Amare trade proposal as worthy of consideration but then you just have to go down this DA/ Nash trail. I like Stuckey but I am not sold on him if it means losing Nash.

Yeah but if they make this trade it's to compete this year. They could bring stuckey off the bench for Nash to take another run. I don't think Stuckey would be in a position to make a big stink about it.

No More Need 4 Sheed?
by Ngozika Nwaneri
As the NBA trade deadline approaches, there's been more and more talk about Phoenix Suns forward Ama're Stoudemire packing his bags for the Motor City. Sources close to PASPN.net have the Pistons sending forwards Rasheed Wallace, Amir Johnson and a future first round draft pick to the Suns in exchange for Stoudemire and Matt Barnes. Ama're, in a one-on-one interview with Don Shane of WXYZ-TV Detroit this past Sunday said he would love to play in Detroit.
It's no secret the Pistons are actively shopping Rasheed Wallace who is in the last year of a five-year deal signed after the Pistons won their third franchise championship in the 2003-04 season. Rasheed came to the Pistons before the NBA's trading deadline February 19th, 2004 and could very well see his time in Detroit run out 5-years to the day. Late last week it was rumored that Wallace could be headed to L.A. before the Lakers sent Vladimir Radmanovic to the Bobcats for Adam Morrison and Shannon Brown. The Pistons are one of several Eastern Conference teams interested in Ama're. The Bulls have expressed interest, however the Pistons present the best opportunity to compete for a championship this season.
The NBA's trading deadline this year is February 19th, 2009.

josh..

you think Stuckey.... can lead this team already?

Looking at Rondo... its possible.

But I think Nash as the LEAD PG is still a better bet to be a playoff performer... Stuckey isnt ready to do that yet. But coming in and playing backup to Nash and maybe along side him at the SG spot... should be fine... helps to rest Nash and shut down other elite PGs in the west.

I cant believe Det would give up Stuckey, but if they land Amare and can bring in a guy like Joe Johnson in 2010 that makes them a very good team.

If the Suns can land Stuckey they have to do that deal, especially because Rasheed would be a very good addition or could be moved in a 3 way to acquire more pieces.

This is obviously much better than the previously rumored Sheed/Amir Johnson trade, it gives the Suns a nice PG for the post Nash years. The Suns still need to receive a pick in this trade in my mind, maybe Detroits 2010 1st rounder, which probably won't be very high with their roster and being in the still slightly weaker east.

EDIT: Oh snap you can throw Walter Sharpe in this deal and it still works money wise, please do this Kerr! I really want a player on my team with narcolepsy. Watching him fall asleep at the free throw line would be priceless.

If the deal above is for Wallace, Johnson and next years 1st round pick I say no. I am not impressed with Johnson and the Pistons pick is useless (#20). It could be a 2010 pick but I bet the Suns don't want to tie up valuable cap space that year by signing a risky rookie.

I hope the deal for Wallace and Stuckey is legit.

Valid point, i'm just all about moving on and trying to rebuild something here starting with a youngish backcourt including Stuckey/JRich/Barbosa.

My thoughts were all about Mojorizen7 just pushing his anti-DA and apparently now anti-Nash philosophy. Your take all the matter is in agreement with mine. IMO, the Suns need two PGs anyway. Stuckey would get a lot of minutes even with Nash although this could lead to another trade not named Nash.

I'd sure consider that trade - Rasheed/Stuckey - if true. Stuckey would be the type of big, good defending PG to play with Barbs at SG in the future. And would look great next to Nash or JRich for stretches now.

If Rasheed was serious about still playing, they could make some noise in the post-season this year. Can Rasheed play the pick n roll with Nash effectively? That's key, as Shaq certainly cannot.

I think Stuckey is probably the best PG we can get if we have any plans of starting LB at SG in the future.

What? Anti-Nash? When discussing moving major pieces of this team and trading them to either take another title shot or rebuild it has got to include discussing Steve Nash. This has nothing to do with my feelings for DA....ZERO. I simply stated that when DA left that i felt that moving his system guy and rebuilding was the right thing to do....thats all.
You bring in a young stud at PG and if you want to rebuild Nash has to go. No?
Try not puckering up whenever i mention the guy ok?
