Denny up next.

Supposedly will talk about the Henry situation as well as of course the #8 pick.

I missed it, what did he say to make you think the trade will not happen?

My thoughts exactly Mao.

If it does happen it will be on our terms....Philly also in the Henry hunt.

Denny mentioned speed and not that Aaron Rodgers and Alexis Smith are slow QB's but it looks like fast CB's and RB's and OLB's. No doubt an OLineman for sure and Denny said probably more than one cornerback.

Just to paraphrase DG he said something to the effect that"we've had months to do this deal and it wasn't done so why would things change in a few days".

I believe he said something like" If it happens it happens but it's been 3 months so I don't see why it would"? or something like that...At this point I thin Denny would take one of the top 3 backs...if they aren't available he would make a straight player for player..or opt to draft a back in the 2nd...

not in my opinion. reading between the lines..."i want to make the bills think that i'm fed up and uninterested in the deal so to force their hand into a player for player deal with no 2nd round swap. especially when their is a rb left on the board at #8, hence the talking up ALL 3 rb's."

the deal will happen on draft day.

Who knows whether what he said about who he will pick is true...but the gist of that was he will pick for speed first...probably 2 cornerbacks and RB

It may but by Denny's talk on our terms.....which as you point out sd81 may be posturing but posturing to let the Bills know that it's straight up or nothing. IMHO Denny likes late round picks too much to let us lose late round leverage by swapping draft positions with the Bills.

Denny left himself a lot of wiggle room. Didn't really commit to anything. We'll draft a 'fast football player' in the first round. We'll draft across a number of positions. If the Henry trade happens then it happens. If it doesn't, it doesn't. Only thing he really commented on is that we'll probably draft a couple of corners.

I dont know if he ment to be so litteral on this but he said,

"We will come out of this draft with a CB probably 2, RB, OL, and a LB."

He keeps talking about BPA but I think he is keying in on a few positions giving them much higher grades on his board.

As for the Henry thing, I dont think he was trying to force anyones hand or doing a smoke screen, he sounded genuinely turned off by the deal. Which may be why we have started to here the Surtian rumors, it could be that we are moving on.

I think the Bidwills may have been turned off by the Henry deal. They frown on using the media during negotiations. Agents know better than to try that tactic with the Cards. Tommy Boy may have overplayed his hand.

After hearing DG talk,i'm of the opinion that DJ is going to be our pick. He said speed was the number 1 thing he was looking at.By saying we'll get our CB's and RB he was kind of de-emphasizing the need to take one in round 1.At least that's what i read into it.

TD asked for it. When he drafted Willie M. he asked for it too. If we get Henry or if we don't I dont care anymore. I'm thankful we have Hambrick and Shipp. Not to mention 2 3rd rounders.

Based on everyone's strong and varied takes on the DG interview, I'm convinced that tomorrow we're going to draft everybody.

With the number 8 pick in this years draft the Arizona Cardinals take hold on a minute , wait a second it appears that Denny is talking to himself lets listen in.

Hey I said Rolle, no you didn't he isnt the BPA, trade for Henry, No it's gotta be Surtain, how about moving down, I don't want to, let's take Benson, then all of a sudden smoke comes up from the Cardinals war room, it appears to be white puffy smoke..they have taken.......

A fast player? Sounds like Carnell, Pac-Man or Mr. Johnson from Texas.

Green stressed that our systems on offense and defense place a premium on speed. We will definitely be looking to upgrade our team speed this weekend. In fact, if you're looking for a theme for this weekend, speed could be it.
