My turn :)

Tonight the D-Backs start a 3 game series in Denver against the Rockies, who just took 3 out of 4 games from the Giants. The D-Backs have found plenty of success on the road this season (13-8) while the Rockies have found their only success at home (14-8) The D-Backs have seen success come from surprising areas all season long, and find themselves a top the NL West, with the Giants and Rockies right in the mix at 1 game back each.

The D-Backs offense, lead by Goldschmidt and Parra will face up against a former D-Back in Jon Garland (3-4, 4.89 ERA, 1.50 WHIP) In each of Garland's last 3 starts, he has gone 5 innings, gave up 7 hits, and has given up 3 runs. He has also given up 3 homeruns over those 3 starts.

Colorado's always dangerous lineup will see Patrick Corbin (6-0, 1.52 ERA, 1.07 WHIP) who has been stellar this year, and is one of those surprises on the 2013 season. In Corbin's last 3 starts, he has pitched into the 7th inning each time, in fact, in his 8 starts this season, he has pitched into the 7th inning 6 times. Over his last 3 starts, he has given up 12 hits, only allowing 2 earned runs, walking 10 and striking out 16.

Go Diamondbacks!

Good writeup unseen. Corbin has been awesome this year and hopefully it continues tonight. Didi has possibly been the biggest surprise thus far with Corbin a close 2nd.

Corbin just hit that "next level" tonight. Against arguably the hottest team at the plate over the past week, Corbin shredded them.
Faces 31 total batters and against 21 of them, he threw 3 pitches or less! 10 k's and 1 walk! He threw 20 balls the entire game! Incredible performance that will now place him in conversations nobody thought would occur for him at the start of the year when he was battling Skaggs for the final spot in the rotation!!!
Also, I don't care what Bauer turns into in his career. Picking up Didi was a HUGE, as in season-making MASSIVE move for this team. An everyday Ayer who has an impact on the game each time he steps to the plate or takes the field! Great, ballsy move by Towers...

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it came down to Corbin and Skaggs...

My memory says Delgado as well, maybe it was a 3 player race and we all just discredited the 3rd guy. What we DO know is Corbin has been the ace this year. Insane so far, totally fun to watch. Good to see Miggy get a couple of hits. Didi is Didi, pretty fantastic that he is hitting the way he is. Didi and Parra are 2 of the surprises this year. If Prado and Montero can start swinging the bat the way they have their whole careers, we'll be tough to beat.

Delgado was in the mix as well, but he crapped the bed by having a terrible spring. Worse yet, he has an 8.80 ERA at Reno.

Corbin better make the All-Star Game. He's a new face on a small market team. He and Goldy both deserve it at this point.

Ian Kennedy vs Jhoulys Chacin tonight. Want to see Kennedy bounce back and find some type of success this year. Isn't Goldschmidt coming up on an off day?

If Micah Owings was still pitching we might have the pitcher batting 8th.

Right now Kennedy is our 4th best starter at best.

Some pretty crappy strike 3 calls - back to back. Those were COMPLETELY not even close to a strike. Thanks a lot ump!!

This home plate ump is killing me. You never see Parra react like that, and it doesn't seem to be in Didi's nature to react like that.

We better get that call off the plate going forward.

Angel Hernandez and his entire crew suck.
