Josh Collmenter scattered four hits over seven innings and Willie Bloomquist homered to start a three-run first inning and help the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Houston Astros 6-3 on Wednesday night. Paul Goldschmidt added a two-run single, Justin Upton went 3 for 4 with a double and a run scored, and Gerardo Parra had an RBI double for the Diamondbacks.

7 innings out of Collmenter was huge, not just for this game, but going into the next series for the pen. Mets are red-hot, then we have the Phillies and Braves on the road. Got to rest the pen as much as possible. Glad we won a game without having to use Putz.

Yup - seven innings of great pitching!
