TAMPA - Super Bowl MVP Santonio Holmes plays for one of most tradition-steeped franchises in the league. He needs to brush up on his football lore.

At a news conference Monday in downtown Tampa, where he was presented his MVP award, the Steelers wide receiver twice referred to the Vince Lombardi Trophy as the "Dicky Lombardi" trophy.

That's hard to believe, considering Holmes has been walking past a display case filled with Lombardi trophies for three years. This was the Steelers' sixth Super Bowl title, a league record.

In the official transcript of Holmes' news conference, run by the league, his mistakes were changed to "Sticky Lombardi."

Oh, that makes a lot of sense.
