Sorry if this was posted already...I was out of town for work. Anyway read the USA today yesterday. They have an article on the Cards and their struggles. What gets me is that Whiz is saying that teams are taking away the deep ball and we have to compensate for it. We have 1 play this year of 30+ yards. Last year we had a 30+ play in every game except 2!!!!!!!!! The writer even states that it doesn't make much sense how teams are trying to stop are pass game now when the last 2 years we have been 31st and 32nd in rushing. So every game for the last 2 years teams have not geared to stop our passing??

The one thing that really mad me mad though. Is they mentioned the deep ball to Fitz against the Colts. Whiz was quoted (I dont know the exact quote but pretty darn close to this) "We gave it a shot, we just missed it. It will come as the year goes on." WHAT?? ARE you kidding me. Whiz said it like yea we tried some off the wall play and it just wasnt there for us. We will try it again someday. Right there makes me think our offense is doomed if that is how is looking at it!

I am not sure that Whiz was communicating what you think he was. If you have ever played football then you will know that there are games that you are out of sync. I think what he may have meant(without reading the article) is that those are bread and butter plays and we missed. Those plays will come. The problem I have is that we are almost a quarter of the way through the season. I don't want to be 4 and 10 before they start clicking.

Maybe there is such a thing as a Superbowl hangover.

Warner threw two deep passes and missed over thrown, or underthrown. 1 was to Fitz if Warner lays it in touchdown. Fitz was 20 yards in front of the closest guy. It's not that we are not throwing them, it's justy that we are throwing them badly.

Timing is off. Kurt and the recievers need to run routes all day at practice together to get the timing on. and the oline needs to stand on Hardy and block the trucks going south from the warehouses behind my work.

I'm not saying everything is rosie with the offense, but we are one stop (49er game) away from being 2-1.
against the colts if the D make a stop on the 95 yard drive we regroup and at 3-0, and who knows ....but instead they drive 95 yrds and we hit panic/flapping about mode.
I think I'm saying IMO its our Defense that needs to get its act together more than our problems resting firmly on the O's shoulders (sure they need to get sharper but they have looked good at points)
so lets just have our finger on the panic button but not press it yet...

Unless I missed something and Whiz was the guy out there thowing the errant pass I don't know what people expect our coach to do.

Whiz called the play, the offense ran the play, every thing went well but Warner over threw the pass. I don't see how that is Whiz's fault.

So, against the Niners, the Niners took away the long pass and force the Caridnals to execute mid-range, to short passes. The Cardinals did not execute those passes, and couldn't run the ball.

Against the Jags, the Cardinals executed there short rangs passes, ran the ball a little, and it opened up the passing game a little. But it was quite evident the Jags weren't going let anything go deep on them that game. But since the offense executed, the Cardinals won.

Against the Colts it was more of the same. The Cardinals were forced to implement short range passes, and runs. There were oppourtunities to go deep but the passes were not accurate or there wasn't enough time for the QB the get the ball out.

I am not happy with Whiz, or any of the coaches in regards to the Cotls game. There were a lot of bad assumptions in the initial gameplan, and it seemed like there were no in-game ajustments. So shame on the coaches.

But once again lets not lose sight of the fact our high priced passing offense is doing diddly poop. So while there is some fault towards the coaches, the players are not executing.

And to be clear, I want to stress EXECUTING. It is not that there is a lack of heart, or physical effort. There is a lack of composure, focus, and intellegence right now.
