For marketing purposes Shane, Beanie seems to work well and will work well with children, don't you think?

I dunno. Whenever I hear the name "Beanie" I keep thinking of Blazing Saddles.

laura, children don't buy NFL tickets or drink light beer. Come to think of it, that makes them smarter than most adult males.

Beanie is a great name Shane. Sorry.

And Skorp, kids may not drink beer or buy tickets, but they will be the ones buying tickets in 20 years, and their memories of "beanie" in their youth will be one of the reasons they keep buying Cards gear for the rest of their lives.

My kids are already both Beanie Crazy. They watch the Youtube clips and then say "BEEEANIE!!!" like drunk frat boys (especially the girl).

Nope its not. Those same kids would do the same thing if he was hailed as Chris Wells. Beanie in the name wont change any of that if he turns out to be what we think he may be.

Oh, dude. You don't even know. Your kids are too old now to be swayed by a name. They thought a guy named Beanie was cool, then they saw him running and went nuts when he shoved people over by the face and jumped over them.

So Beanie = cool.

Chris = meh.

Beanie who is awesome = HOLY CRAP MAN!! BEEEEEEEEEAAAANIIIEEE!!

Chris who is awesome? HOLY CRAP MAN!! Holy crap. Yeah, that guy.

It's a very marketable name, sorry. One name athlete...one nickname athlete.

I can just see it. If Wells does not play well, his critics will call him "beanie Weenie." :D

I remember when it was cool being a fan of a WR named "Bambi". People don't get to chose their own nicknames.
