Not that I follow the WNBA, but I just noticed that this week's Sports Illustrated has a WNBA preview, in which they pick Phoenix to finish last in the conference (on . But they call the team the "Phoenix Sun" instead of the Mercury. Did the team change its name, or is SI just dazed and confused?

SI is wrong on both counts. This is a vastly better tean than last year's and they are still the Mercury.

I watch Phoenix Mercury when they're on TV but don't know a lot about the league - anyways 1 team is called Sun, don't know which city though. Might of been an error.

Ah, right! Looking more carefully, I now see that their prediction for last in the Eastern Conference in the Connecticut Sun. (Connecticut Sun? Makes no sense, but whatever.) So yeah, it's just editing carelessness.

Connecticut Sun makes as much sense as the Utah Jazz.

Wait, really? That's just silly enough to be true.

The reason why they named them "Sun" is because their home court is at the Mohegan Sun in CT (a popular casino here).
