I say Yes. How did the White Sox not make the playoffs with a starting rotation including Loazia, Buerhle, and Colon. A somewhat decent bullpen, although Koch was a mistake. Add a powerful offense, including Maglio, Lee, Thomas, Valentin. Plus the acquisitions of Alomar and Everett. Man, I don't get it.

Yes and No. He had a lot to work with. But he just couldnt put it together.

Yes - on Sept 9th, the White Sox lead the division by 2 games. They finished 4 out

He should've been fired after the 2000 AL Divisional Series when the Sox got swept by Seattle. Jerry had many good qualities but he seemed to always get his team to play to mediocrity when the bullets were flying.
