Did we even lay a pinky on Hasselbeck?

Can't believe how pathetic our pass rush has become... If we don't bring our entire LB corps, along with someone from the secondary, we can't even pressure the Qb let alone grab a sack...
Ugghhhhh.....:bang:

Nope, was Calvin Pace..

Bid Deal...

Hasselbeck had all day in the pockett. Man I was so frustrated... Everytime he dropped back, he could just sit there for days waiting from someone to break open...
Our seconday blows and are all banged up - but zero pass rush will kill any secondary...
And, as a result, Hasselbeck puts up a 131.6 rating on us... OUCH!

Celestine has been around all season. Rolle was awful, Holt was pitiful. We have a secondary of sub-NFL caliber players.

I can't believe we couldn't find someone better to replace AW than Celestine... Man he is so bad...
Rolle?? Has even played since he has his career game??
Holt is pitiful too! Ralph Brown looked completely lost as well... But again, no pass rush = opposing QB feeling comfy. In the NFL, a comfy QB is always dangerous...

Jesus, that is pitiful just thinking of our secondary as it is now.. Its a reason I had come to grips with losing today if we did.. And of course, we did..

Dammit! This is frustrating.. Cant help thinking about our craptastic secondary.. If Cason is on the board when we pick, we damn well better call his name on draft day!

With all of them out its no surprise the team is having trouble generating a pass rush and stopping the pass. Holmgren is a smart coach with a veteran QB. They were bound to look at film from the last week or two and find ways to exploit the backups. Too bad Boldin was out, Pope got hurt, and Fitz was not at 100% which made it hard for the Cards to turn the game into a shoot out.

The Cards have way better talent than 3 or 4 years ago and even some depth on the roster. But still this game would have taken a miracle or two to win with that many top players out or slowed by injury.

Bingo!

The problem is, the two teams are currently taking different directions. We have players dropping like flies, and Seattle is getting everyone back. If you look at our injury list, and look at the personnel we had on the field for this game, it's amazing we didn't lose by more. Our secondary wasn't exactly stellar to begin with, when you deplete it so badly with injuries on top of all that, there is really little hope to stop anyone. Getting a pass rush without our starting ends and without A-Dub is probably not going to happen the rest of the year.

This is what makes Cardinal football so crazy this year. We had no pass rush last week, 1 sack, and the same secondary and still beat Cleveland.

Its turnovers. We took 4 last week and gave away 5 this week.

And this is really why is't so crazy and FRUSTRATING being a Cards fan... We have never been able to control the line of scrimmage at any point in the last 10 years!!!
We can't run. And while we somehow figured out how to be a solid run defense team, we absolutely SUCK at rushing the passer... Hasselbeck is good, he is NOT great! We made him look like Brady yesterday...
We beat the Browns with only one sack as well, largely because Anderson is worse than Hasselbeck. He gave us some gifts in that game and Hood made the most of them...
We are simply not built in a way that will produce consistent performances and consistent W's... Until we can run the ball, and put some damm pressure on the QB, we will continue to see stretches where we win a game versus the Browns, and then get our brains beaten in against a mediocre team like the Hawks...
