Word in the rumor mill is that Didi is being shopped for starting pitching. There is a strong rumor that Didi to the Mets has legs, because of their abundance of young Major League ready arms. Detroit is another team that is also looking for a shortstop.

No surprise (as I posted to another thread when Gibby was quoted as saying that he made his decision about which SS to keep) that the logical choice was Chris Owings (despite Owings being another righty hitter and Didi a needed lefty.

I agree with the decision to keep Owings. 'Not as flashy as Didi, but more solid.

There have been rumors of the Dbacks and Mets "talking" for more than a month now... We'll have to wait and see if anything actually comes of it. However, I would be shocked if the Mets are willing to offer any of their top-line talent... For Didi, I think the best we would get in return is a potential solid #3.

Didn't read the article but I know three of the D-Backs top scouts were spotted at the Mets game yesterday.

Gambo said the guy they are scouting is some minor leaguer named Montero who supposedly is Major League ready.

Mets are hurtin at SS.

Before Corbin went down it was Didi for a catching prospect to back up Montero. Met's must have shown interest and just want to know what we want. Maybe that works in our favor if all is real.

Rafael Montero. If KT can land him for Didi, that'd be highway robbery. Kid has potential to be a high end starter, and is still young and under team control for awhile.

I dont know. To be on KT's shopping list you need to do one or more of these things:

1. Throw an inconsistent and mediocre sinker.
2. Be laughably over paid.
3. Have serious durability questions.
4. Have firmly established yourself as an average or worse but "gritty" pitcher.

Arroyo was sharp in his return and final Spring Training start. Good news.

Owings has won the starting SS job over Didi (which was expected). Good news.

Delgado will be the #5 starter. 'Not a surprise. No other choice now.

Tuffy won the backup Catcher job over Henry Blanco, who will become a D'backs coach, which means that Mark Grace won't.

Grace had whined at the Legends game, "I'm baaaaack!" No, you're not, Mark. Grow up!
