I need to hook up directv in my spare bedroom that is now occupied. I have one output left on my switch. Can I just run the coax cable from it to the receiver and call directv to activate it or whatever they do? I don't want to pay for someone to come out and do this. Thoughts????

Yes you can do that. You don't have to pay to have someone install another reciever. All you have to do is hook it up then call to activate it.
