DirectX & game download problem

I just downloaded a game from EA Sports but it won't install because it says I need directx 9.0. I have that version on my computer. Of course, like most of the jerks that sell software downloads, there is no place to get help from EA sports website.

Anyone have any ideas as to what I can do about this conflict with the directX and the game?

When I run dxdiag that is the version that is indicated.

9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)

Have you tried unistalling Direct X then reinstalling it again? If that doesn't work, make sure that your video drivers are the latest and check to see if the game has a patch already.
