That if we were able to sign Boston or if we would have tagged him forcing him to stay here that we would have signed anymore FAs than we have already which is ZERO?

Because I highly doubt things would be any different. This organization is viewed as second rate whether Boston was still here or not!

We all knew Plummer would be gone and most of us wanted that. So please tell me why many of you think that Boston being here would have made any difference whatsoever in FA???

Boston here = solid receiving unit

Boston gone = losing our BEST player and 1 more hole to fill

Simple enough?

in theory the Cardinals could have just kept tagging Boston every year, he may not have been happy but tough ****

Not that I want Stewart, Blake, or Griese (for the record I want Leftwich) but I do believe having Boston on the roster would go a long way to help sway a potential FA QB into signing.

That signing in turn helps bring in other free agents, etc. etc.

And besides, say he didn't have the year he did two years ago and only caught 80 for 1,100. That's still 80 and 1,100 that someone else doesn't have to make up.

But I digress...........................

Just why couldn't we just put the Transition tag on him....if we would lose him, then we would get something in return...Man we are stupid

Even the freaking bungles put that transition Tag on Spikes and will get compensation. Even they managed to keep Correy Dillon, there best player by "showing him the money". Even the pathetic Bungholes signed a few key FA's! Man, the cardinals really are the worst franchise in the NFL. I've never been this down before about this team, they hit a new low IMO. Someone please help me, I don't like being this pessimistic.

I know mdsisquo...But you know what...Somehow we would get ripped apart if someone else read this post....Because for whatever reason, everyone hates David Boston, because he is human, and he made a mistake...So i mean, fine if we got rid of Boston, atleast get something in return....My God...we are really really dumb!!!! dam!

Rod Graves is quoted as saying that the Cardinals do not "believe" in franchising a player in order to trade them for picks. That is the stupidest thing I ever heard. The Broncos admitted that they would have given a high pick (2nd or 3rd round)for Jake. I don't want Jake but I would have liked an extra draft pick. We could have gotten a higher pick from SD for Boston.

The Cardinals need to draft better. That is one of their biggest weaknesses.

You get nothing in compensation if you transition tag a player and fail to match another team's offer. You only get compensated for a franchise tag. Transition tag does give you the right to match any offer, nothing else.

OK, lets just all turn our back and go walking one by one into the bliss of ignorance. Give me a break! This is how you tell us to stop talking about what the cards to wrong, by saying we're beating a dead horse? Whats that all about? what are you afraid of, that your rose colored glasses will no longer make everything seem like "it's ok since it's happening". Well, i like to look at things from all angles, then make judgement and not be so blinded by my love for this team. And dont you dare say i'm not a true fan, cause I bleed cardinal red, and always will. I'm just enough of a fan to talk about the bad with the good. Just let it go???????? Just turn our back on the stupidity of this organization? NO, i won't. Someone has to let them know that the fans are unhappy. I want this team to win, problems will not get resolved until someone addresses them. We all want the same thing here, some just have different ways of getting there. I hope I can become more optimistic about this team in the near future, but lets be honest about it, they are not giving me anything I can work with, and thats just the truth. Sorry if it's beating a dead horse!

Its been a few days of nothing but this kind of talk, its old, nobody is saying anything that hasn't already been said 100 times thats beating a dead horse IMO. If you want to let the franchise know your not happy great I'm all for that, but last time I checked ASFN message board didn't own the Cards.

You know pinetopred, maybe we should all just shut up then! I mean, no one on this board is saying anything new, it's all the same "crap" over and over again. EVERYONE is saying the same stuff over and over again and beating a dead horse, it's called the offseason!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats what it's for! Until the cards do something NEW I will continue to beat the dead horse, as will everyone else! "No body is saying anything that hasn't been said 100 times", oh, well thank you for informing me oh great one, let me change to make YOU happy! Give me a break! The last post you made has been said 100,000 times, by the way! Hey T-pot, you're black!

Only one of you even attempted to answer the ? in my thread. Which was why do you think having Boston would have made it easier to sign FAs?

The only one that came even close to answering that was harleyrider. THANK YOU!

The rest of you turned this into an I hate Graves thread and Im pissed we got nothing for Boston. That was not the intent!

Well, I do hate Graves and I'm pissed we got nothing for Boston. I think FA's think the Cardinals are a joke after letting Boston walk away and will feel like a ***** for taking our over-flated price. If Emmit takes the money, he is admitting that he only cares about padding his stats and milking the Cards before he retires. RB is the least of our problems. And I'm sure someone has already said that Bidwill wants Emmit only to sell tickets, not win games.

I hope we get Colvin, although I would be shocked if he signed here. Can he look in the mirror and tell himself that the Cards are comitted to winning when they let a talent like Boston walk away? Nope, he will go to Detroit who has Mariuchi who has a proven track record.

Does that answer your question?

I think we would have Boston tagged, not traded, settling in for a long holdout. I don't think it would've made a blip of a difference in signing free agents. Even if we had extended Boston last year, I don't think it would've made a difference. We've sucked 4 years with Boston, players will come here only for the money. Period.

Thx AJ I tend to agree with your line of thinking. I dont care if we locked up boston last year to a 4 year extension these FA would still be using us as a bargaining chip and we would not have signed anyone else up to this point!

hey, at this point beating a dead horse is doing more than the cardinals are doing. maybe i'll start a thread so everyone can beat their own favorite dead horse . . .

letting boston get away for nothing was stupid. fa's see that the cardinals are stupid. they don't want to be associated with stupid. as fans, we're associated with stupid. maybe we're stupid to be fans of the cards. i don't like where my own post is going . . .
