I don't think the Cardinals will now take a quarterback with their first pick now that they got Blake so if Suggs is available I would take him. I think the Cards take another defensive player in the second round and then a receiver in the third. What do you guys think they will do?

Take Suggs if available!

Blake is the Bridge to parson or McCown!

Coln is gone and a pass rush is our #1 Priority!

If Suggs is available, regardless of who we signed, we need to take him. If he's not available we need to make him available. Meaning if we have to trade up to get him,,,,,,, D@mn it trade up to get him........

There is no way that Suggs will make it to the 6th overall pick. He will go in the top three. Sorry, but that is the fact. Dallas would take his at number 5 if he is still available. But he wont be available.

I doubt suggs will be there either at #6....like 5% chance

SO, if the cards want him, they will have to trade up...I'm not against it...

But at the same time...if they don't I'd take leftwich..

I want leftwich either way...but Suggs would be a TREMENDOUS acquisition. As long as they get an impact player(whether it be this year or down the road)

Maybe trade Thomas Jones & the #6 pick to move up. Maybe they get Dallas' first and 5th round pick.

Don't get me wrong, I like Suggs...but the timing is right now for a franchise QB...Cards have cap room, and can pay the bonus.

We'll see who is proven right...but in that slot, IMO, ya gotta take someone that touches the ball 500 times a year.

Sorry, still suffering from the Wadsworth hangover, but if Suggs gets 1 sack/60 snaps/game, he is an all-pro. The QB is much more important IMO. :)

What i wonder about is what happens if Suggs and Leftwich are gone by the 6th pick?Jimmy Kennedy or Terrence Newman or Dewayne Robertson or who?

Wow, I go away for 3 days and Graves is going nuts!! Great day for all Card fans. The only bummer is no Colvin. If we get Holliday that will soften the blow. If Suggs is not there, I would take Kennedy or Robertson. No Suggs means that Dennis Johnson will have to step up next year. Robertson would be a great complement to bryant at the DT slots.

To me, that's not even a question. YES!

If he's not there, we WON'T take a QB. The only place I hear Leftwich talk is on this board. I think we will take a QB, my hunch is it will be in RD 2 out of Simms, Boller, Grossman, etc.

I rate in this order:

1. Suggs

2. Newman

3. Kennedy

4. Johnson/Rogers

5. Trade down.

Also, if Peek is in RD 2, and we didn't get Suggs, we'd have to seriously consider taking him.

I just do not see Suggs being there at #6 so this is a non starter. I do think they will go defense unless they think what ever QB available at that point is a real NFL franchise type QB. I do not think we can realistically make the playoffs next year so if you are thinking long term now would be the time to take a QB and allow him to mature under Blake. Suggs or no one else will turn us into an instant contender so think 2-3 years out if you really want to change this franchise.

What if we trade TJ and are first to move up in the draft.

Suggs will be GONE!

We'll go Newman or Kennedy in all likelihood. We may even trade down if there is someone dying to pick up Leftwich.

Blake gives us at least one more year to wait in a young QB and that may be Eli Manning in 2004.

All things considered, we'll be lucky to be a 500 team next year.

I think the Cards should take Leftwich if available it's just too much to pass up and it sets us up for years at the most key position.

Suggs if Leftwich is gone and he is available or Kennedy.

Then go defense the next 2 rounds trying to get a corner and more d line help.

We have Bryant and Johnson that should step up next year we could really use Holliday or Okafor.

The Cards could if they address the pass rush, to their comfort level, in FA before the draft. Dt is a position primarily for run stuffing and collapsing pockets IMO. DTs should be aiming for sacks but the real glamor boys are outside. DT is dirty grunt work. If a DT can get to the QB, that is an added bonus but I want my DT to crush the run first.

Have to disagree on that one, but that besides the point. We already have a one-gap DT in Wendell Bryant and need a two-gap DT playing next to him.

Newman will be taken with the first pick in the BEngals stay there so don't expect him to be available at #6 either.

Robertson is the guy I am liking more and more. I have a hard time not loving Bryant and Robertson in the middle, with Johnson, VandenBosch, and possibly a free agent on the outside. You can never have too much talent up front.

Why do you think any of the other tackles could provide more than Robertson (the fastest guy at tackle at the combine)?

He also is 6'2, 320.....which would make him able to anchor.

Not a bad front line, with a lot of young talent.:D

Oh yeah, and Robertson runs a 4.8 40, which shows burst and athleticism. Hey, we already have one fat ass in Tanner, do we really need more?
